Video: Justina – Omo 2 Sexy
Posted on January 27th, 2009 by Mola OGI am impressed that she actually followed up with a video for this song, if she continues like this she might become the biggest naija female singer in a year or so. Apparently, the video was shot in London.
Now I don’t know about all the half naked dudes on the video though…
Great Quality video and solid song; plus I like her swagger (for lack of a newer slang) in this video. Your thoughts?

For a video shot in London, highly disappointing. It appears videos shot in Naija and SA are now surpassing London’s?
Let’s start with styling. Congrats the stylist got the color palettes and trends for Autumn winter 2009 i.e. the blues, fiery red, knee high socks, leopard prints etc.,right. Great. Congrats. But the execution is simply not up to par.
Edit everything out and just have Justine in what has to be the look that embodies the sexiness and consistency with such a fun exciting song: The knee high socks and cute sports-chic long sleeve red jacket and matching red satin shorts.
That look along with the accessories and choice of wig was the perfect fit for the whole video and they should have stayed on it using the men as props to highlight that.
Instead, they did whatever it is they did.
Also, I don’t mind that there is no Afrocentric clothes per se, because there are many ways to capture Afro-centricity beyond the actual designs. What bothers me is that she wore a wig in subsequent shots i.e in the leopard dress and blue dress.
Her own hair which appears to be dreadlocked is in and of itself her signature. Using her real hair would have been a big part of pulling the whole video together. If they still insisted on wigs, then maybe stick with the curly wig as it worked.
The props, i.e. the men, are there but are not used well at all. For a great and fun song that I have on repeat very often, I am disappointed with video quality, the lack of time spent to really think through the concept because it shows and the ultimate execution. Maybe Justine should consider having the folks who did her video “Omo na me and u” hook her up next time. That was a much better video conceptually and in execution.
Cheers,
Uduak
okay, so, like I said when I heard the single, big hand clap from me.
The video was very good, but I agree that a more Afrocentric concept would have been interesting to see. Nigerian artists have to take advantage of what we already have without always resorting to what is already tried and true from the West. We can create our own image, if we try, its been done before. And like rapjunkie said, she could just become THE TOP female artist in naija.
Anyway, what is up with all this gay talk? All you boys need to stop hating on the swexiness that is clearly on display in this vid. Yeah, I said it – stop hating. So the guy has a belly ring, so what? which one consain una? The babe is clearly giving a shout out to the fine boys out there. If you are a fine boy, stop hating on the fine boys in her video. And if not, well you know the drill.
Just because you are watching hot male bodies (obviously put on video for the ladies) does not mean you have to declare your heterosexuality or force you to yap fine guys. haba.
huh? mimi… U miss road? this is Justina oooh no M.I. lol. tmonei has a point. I was actually expecting chicks in the video but hey, she still did a good job
…passionate, earthy instrumental music that inspires both body and soul…
FINE!!! I will be your #1 Critique!
M.I is undoubtedly the illest sickest lyricist on the block right now..i jus cant get enough of him…all the songs on his recently releases are tewwwwwhhh mad. not too many ppl can suavely pull that off…his lyrics are on point…they make sense and the beats???
another story entirely…he’s def one to watch out for…
What a totally Credible Record. I haven’t heard a female vocal this original from naija in a long time. Awesome
Great, Great, Great!!!I heard this track a few times before and thought it was from an established artist. The video is one of the best i’ve seen in recent times. i believe that there is gap in the market for a strong female singer and she might fill it. I’m SURE the song will blow in naija( if not already!) I just hope she can follow this up with another banging track/video. If she does then without doubt, a new superstar is born
9ice vid & song I must say. I hope she follows up correct
As u can c, this aint dark video. Very nice quality. Lol@ Oluseyi. Not wat I expected d video wud luk like doh but d song is a’aight.
I’m feelin this chick, man.. Keep grindin.
Hold up… dude has a belly ring.
Dude has a BELLY RING.
Now I’m straight – any of you other straight brothers ever CONSIDERED getting a belly ring? I mean, I’ve heard that some freak dudes like to get nipple rings (personally, that ish is mad suspect, homie), but a belly ring?
Somebody’s ad-ver-tis-ing!
Okay, now that we’ve got that out of the way (and ignoring the incongruity of an obviously gay dude pretending he’s into chicks), the video is fresh. It’s a nice party vibe, it’s fun, the song is banging, Justina is clearly working hard at her appeal and performance aspects – any video of her live on stage, Mola or Ovie?
Production quality is spotless.
