Here is a track from the mixcd ft Felyne – Swagger 101 (Remix)

Plus some detail from Naira on what to expect from the mixcd:

Ok so let’s get straight into it.  “I believe in I…I AM the Renaissance”, are a few lyrics heard from ‘Fly Hustle Fresh Grind’ track on the ‘LOST IN TRANSLATION’ mixtape.  ‘Jang-o-Lova’ feat KenO , tells a story that the ladies & gents can share an interest with, being flirtatious and setting the record straight- It opens doors exploring a two-way relationship between the cosmos of men vs. women.   The mixtape prepares your day and/or night for being confident, fun, and energetic all at the same time.

‘Lost In Translation’ delivers the fusion of making one step into your dancing heels; whining your hips and allow the fellas to respect the ANTHEM that this woman brings to forefront of music and entertainment industry.

Urban-Soul Artist, N.A.I.R.A. holds the title of being one of the few international female artists without a doubt pledging to vocalize her inner thoughts.  Cultivating a new era in music, N.A.I.R.A. blends her own style AFRO HOP-HIP, Urban Soul, jazz, funk, blues, pop, reggae, and r&b.

ok so i downloaded her album off truspot n i’m just listenin to it now… n i was turned off by the intro (sth about being the “duality that exists between 2 countries- Nigerian, American”)… i dunno, i just feel its unnecessary; its one of the many reasons i do not see myself buying SauceKid’s album… America is not that big a deal, n it wont give u an edge in the Nigerian music industry… n i’m not hating, its just how i feel.

Big ups to Naira..the song is a’aight but for some reason I aint feelin the lyrics…she didn’t really define her swagga, boast nor give me any reason to be jealous of her attitude towards people or things.
Nice beat anyways… I guess am gonna check out her other songs from the mixtape.

I’m glad Naira is back. Initially when she out I did not feel a connection to her music. Honestly speaking I was like lost the whole time trying to grab what she was getting at. I’m actually glad she is back. This mixtape is a merge of so much variety of Naira that you have no choice to like at least one piece of the offering she is tryna give out. It’s a mixtape so it has jacked beats yet again she makes the songs, beats, swag whatever you call it, her own and that’s what’s good about this mixtape. I downloaded it and I’m loving it, while driving, while working, whatever. Naira keep doing this before you know it you’ll be all over the place. I feel you swag jare, Keep doing you, keep doing everything you’re doing good or bad cos that’s how you find out what works for you by taking all the risks.
I know we’re trying to keep M.I off this but M.I totally woke me up and really makes me want to delete some of the old Nigeriad hiphop songs I have had in the past and refresh starting from “Talk About It” henceforth

@Billboard and Jamrock, i was not comparing her to M.I, I was just stating that she needs to rap in a language she can fluently rap in. I honestly loved the song but I didn’t like it when she was trying to add Yoruba to it. It just sounded so American and I would have loved it better if she would have just done it like the other lady on the track which I believe was Zara(correct me if i’m wrong). She spit hers, said one or two words in yoruba the rest in english and absolutely nailed it. And by the way M.I is nigerian musics Barack Obama, a new hope and the fact is you know its true!

@sanmi…its all about entertaining da streets…if da streets dont understand u, marketers wont feel u too….

zaara did good but will she sell CDs like pasuma, 9ice, Ajasa and co?…I think not…..

guy, so the street is where da market is?

artitistes should not bother to impress us on the blog, they impress da street instead…

She murdered it indeed. Great work has to be appreciated. And yea, MI has no business on this post. Let’s give credit where its due. We dont have to compare every new artist to the “Short Black Man” (coined from Ladybrille). He needs rest.

Naira, thumbs up!

She laced the beat quite well. Nice one!

On a sidenote, I see no reason why M.I is mentioned on this thread. These new naija music fans tend to cling to him like he’s their daddy or something. MI this… MI that. M.I is not Barack Obama.

On a side note, I’m not a new naija music fan. I know what we’ve had before in Naija music and I know what we have right now and M.I is sure damn good to have people cling onto him. He might be relatively new on the scene but his standard is so high and his quality is so good that he can be used as a reference point for up and coming Naija rap artists.
