Chelle – Opon ti Sun
Posted on May 7th, 2009 by Mola OGThis is Chelle’s official single; the one I mentioned the other day.
She has a good voice and the song is decent, but I still feel like I need to hear some more songs from Chelle. What are your thoughts?

My God u hv wat it takes to get dere………….nice one
[...] Chelle really went in on the remix of ‘Opo Ti Sun‘… Listen to the original track [...]
I had this on my Ipod and it sounded just fine…. I can’t deny the voice at all. To show how tight the song is to me.. I already have a remix on that jam ready…lol. But on the real, a tight remix would do for this track… the voice carries it through
If anyone knows the producer and songstress.. let her know that someone is looking to put her on several tracks… and flow on the remix.. ogee71@gmail.com
Cheers… u gonna be fine Chelle!
lovely… i love it… i jus love it.. simple!
Her voice has the beyonce thing going. Very good vocal. I don’t think she needs to razz up the song (please don’t start putting ideas in her head, we have enough formula artists already), just make it better. As an artist, you need to decide where your song will fit, in the clubs, radio, i-pod or all of them. For this song, she doesn’t seem to have made up her mind. So it’s not nice enough for the ipod repeatability, not fast enough for the clubs and might work on radio, but i don’t think so. However, her potential is huge. With the right team she will blow.
Hmmm, I like this song. Congrats. Good tempo, very good vocals. I was waiting to hear more from this artist since the last single posted not too long ago and I am glad that this is the follow up.
Just read Ideasplus’s comment and I can understand the point being made. The suggestion to “razz” up the song is reasonable. Considering a lot of the music that is very popular right now, most of them do have some deliciously razz element to them and/or fuji/owambe additions.
That being said, I think this song is fine without those additions. However, I acknowledge, as should the artist, that that could prevent this song from being as successful as other songs on instant replay right now. Asa has proven that very well made music does not need to have razness in it to be successful.
Consequently, Chelle will still need to step up her music. Its got to blow us away to not need to resort to the usual Naija music formulas. Anyway, here’s wishing Chelle some good luck. She has a good voice and that can take her very far.
RAZZ IS DA NEW COOL…..
This is better than the last one we heard but still something missing.
And as Tmonie mentioned that the male and female backup singers came in at the right time.
It’s all good
i idea of the song is really good….the hook is really nice buuuut?????thereis something missing…she should try speeding up the track….make the beat ….this song can be like the eldee’s big bois…but it lack the naija feel….very musical….and dat not naija…naija is raz in a cream way…i hope u get me…good work though
much better track……she getting there….and better production as well…..I can see da work dat has gone into da production judging by da arrangement of da song…..I mean da choice of male backup singers and da female backup singers coming in at da right time……and da hook…..ok!
she has da likeability factor, I guess….she strikes me as a kind of person you just want to cheer for in an Xfactor competition without any reason at all…..maybe cos of da natural voice or her simple looks….there is room for improvement, though…..
keep reppin, chelle….
Much better than the prior track. Beautiful voice as indicated but she still holds back for whatever reason, not sure.
“Opon ti sun” sugbon [but] Chelle o de [ you reach] “let dem say awa jaiye, awa shaye, bi kpe awa la laiye.” But right there, there is still holding back on the vocals. It almost calls for a climax on the vocals or some deep bellied singing. She is still giving surface i.e. throat singing. Go deep missay. Gorgeous voice, gorgeous babe. Now, work it!
Cheers,
