Terry G Apologises to the Naija DJs (Exclusive footage)
Posted on May 25th, 2009 by Ovie OFor the very few who may have heard, Gabriel Amanyi, aka Terry G, recently had an issue with DJ Humility of the Naija DJs. For that reason, the Naija DJs Coalition worldwide threatened to suspend all his materials (including all songs produced by Terry G).
Due to our widely-publicized affiliation with the Naija DJs, notjustOk.com eventually joined in with the imposed ban. (you probably wondered why you hadn’t seen a Terry G song on here in a minute).
The long and short of it is that Terry G has now openly apologised to the whole Naija DJs family, and here’s the official video recorded earlier TODAY!
Moral Lesson: RESPECT THE DEEJAY!

Hi fellows, the issue of the naija dj’s & “terry g”artistes is for us to learn from our mistakes,i am one of the biggest djs in 9ja & i believe 9ja’s are the best in the world regardless of whatever challenges we are facing, terry g’s issue has been dealt with & forgiven by all of us,i’m not trying to raise up the issue again cos it’s over but you must have it in mind that the attitude terry showed towards dj humility(colleague) & others is awful & doesn’t speak well of him,all bcos he needed him to do something 4 him,he could do thesame to anyone else including his fans & that is the attitude of a typical naija artiste,i know this cos i’m in scene too.
i am aware some dj’s collect money from artistes, now can the audience answer this?if an artiste is very sure of him/herself that his/her song is good would he/she offer any dj #5000/recharge cards which is crap or rather insultive, now it has become the mindset of every artiste to insult dj’s in one way or the other, none of these dudes who wrote against djs were there when terry g brought his song 2us @ rhythm 93.7fm lekki begging 4 airplay with no dime u can ask him, none of these dudes knew how we scratched our backs 2 make sure he blows up,we took it 2 the clubs, shows, parties everywhere & what u deserve is a piece of ish?
Come on guys let’s be sincere with each other, even if d’banj messes up,he’d face the same treatment, guys in yankee you what’s up,can any artiste try that with a dj?i think 9ja artistes needs to be re-orientated. They might not like that statement but it is the truth, the unity of 9ja dj’s can not be stopped not even by the devil who is the ruler of this world,i blame those dj who have let us down by demanding for cash, pls note that you are worth more than cash & naija artistes stop paying dj’s & develop your music talent if you have. No be everybody go sing those are my parting words &
i am the
WORLD FAMOUS DJ TOMMY(RHYTHM 93.7fm lagos).

apology accepted..lol
LOL this guy is a clown
LMAO..shepe is working
Lets get something straight… The DJ/Artiste suitation is not the same as soccer. For starters when a ref gets it wrong, he is punished for it, or at least there is a system in place to pull him up on it.
DJ is 9ja, are a funny breed, they collect money to play your jam, and quite frankly they are only after you they believe will pay them.
So Ovie, tell me this, who protects the up and coming acts that pays some of these MFs 5k and have their CD tossed in the bin. The fact is if a DJ and an Artiste have a problem, it should be just between the two… Period.
Who punishes the DJs when they f up???
Well, my good people, Its absolutely natural for the average fan to take sides with the “underdog” or the seemingly powerless person. I won’t exactly come on here to tell y’all what happened or didn’t happen. What I can say is that you guys should not jump into conclusions with such little knowledge about the whole thing.
For those who watch European soccer (or football), I’m sure you’ve heard about the “Respect Campaign for referees.” Over the years, we’ve seen how the “big” players talk smack to refs without getting punished, just because of their status in the game. Now, with the Referees Union along with the governing bodies working hand-in-hand, a ref can send a player off with the FULL backing of the FA or UEFA, pending an additional suspension.
This is exactly the same in the industry today. The DJs are the refs who run the rule over parties, radio shows, events, and what not, while the artistes are the players who people actually come out to watch (or listen to). Now, what is wrong with having a “Respect the DJ Campaign?” Are the DJs suddenly of little or no importance?? If an artiste has attained a certain high level, can he tell the DJ to (excuse my language) go fuck himself ‘cos he’s now globally known?? A DJ who “possibly” may have nurtured his career from scratch… a DJ who may have afforded him the opportunity to be heard for the VERY FIRST TIME on the radio??
At this very moment, I’m almost pressed to say exactly what happened… but I’ll resist it. The response from the majority was… well… as expected. Honestly, I’d say the same if I was on the outside looking in. This is only coming to light because of the DJ in question. Humility is a big-name on Rhythm 93.7FM, and in Lagos in general. If he could be subjected to “such embarassment,” imagine what the relatively less known Djs are going through.
That said, for those who think “a certain producer” is holier than thou, have you heard the issue with Shakar El Swagga? Or AY.com?? or Ditty-Blaq??? It wouldn’t be a good look for me to play those issues out here. But… go ask questions. You’ll be surprised by what’s really going on in the industry 2day!
Thanks for addressing this Ovie..but like I mentioned (and u noted)earlier, You should have stated this in the post before these threads and nothing would have happened!as the way it was portrayed would give the wrong impression!
I am aware of the other issues u meantioned with shakar, ay.com etc and I take a stance hugely against terry G (Only because I know the whole story)
Bottomline is, if u want ppl to respect the DJ, give the people a 360 view of wots going on and then we can respect the situation!
Thanks for coming out!

I don’t think this is just a case of taking sides with the underdog…first off, if u are going to air Terry G’s apology, u might as well let us know the whole story, because it just doesn’t make sense having the audience hear a one-sided story…no one is saying don’t respect a DJ, but as u r giving these DJs their respect, u need to make sure they don’t abuse it…We have had one too many of these rifts to think that the artists are always at fault…as u mention, in football we see the insults/abuse/disrespect and we can make assessment whether a reprimand is in order…so u can’t just show us half a picture and paint a picture that the artist is deserving of his/her reprimand…that is hogwash. if you are going to boycott an artist and deprive his/her fans from hearing them on their favorite radio station you better air the whole story…
Ovie sup..nice 1..i was going to talk about the Shakkar El Swagga issue..i dont get it..how can a so-called ACE producer downgrade himself..anywayz..I dont think he should eb forgiven…just like a drunkard telling a chik he loves her?? Its the Alcohol datz loving her not the guiy..same thing here..he doesnt sound remosre at all and he’z very high..so its d alcohol datz saying hello..i think he shouldnt be pardoned..what did he do to AY.com and Ditty Blaq? i love the songs he produced for dem..u can email me if u dont wanna talk it out here walataza@yahoo.com thanks
