Ok..I have actually read all the posts on this comment but stayed away because it just seemed like an Anti-Ezzie campaign as first rather than a vote of constructive critisizm so I am going to be like Tmonei and try to bring some insight. There are a lot of things people have said on here that I agree with but a lot that was just out of line.. Dickhead?? really??? …I think Ezzie is Lyrically talented she puts together words nicely and her wordplay is flawless…but I have been saying for day 1 she needs to work on flow and delivery .. becauase to be HONESTY a lot of Naija biggest artists have your so called “Elementary/Nickelodeon” rhymes {Cough}D’banj{Cough} but the only thing that makes them stand out is their flow and delivery or for a lack of better words their “Swagger” which I think Ezzie has not found yet. So before i pass any final judgements I will wait until tomorrow to hear her on a REAL track or until she releases a REAL single and pass judgments then.. this was obviously playing around and it was light hearted and very entertaining…I mean it was better that SAUCE KID’s Freestyle on DJ Lanre’s Factory ..soo… I think to have “Freestyled” (which I use lightly b/c i am still not conviced all her vlogs are freestyles) she was good and if she can put this togther in a “Freestyle” I think that a lot of femcees are going to be in trouble for her written…and i COMPLETLEY agree that all these females in the naija scene are on BORROWED TIME!! and if all these femcees in Yankee e.g Zara, Nyja. Naira, Madarocka, and Yes Ezzie..were to step up the likes of Sasha, Kel, Blaise and co would dissapear… the only reason they are big is because they are fortunate enough to BE in Naija.. – SOJ

In whatever you do in life, whether business or showbiz….you will always be compared with your contemporaries……and the comparison is supposed to spur one to try and be da best……and keep you on your toes……AND THE FACT THAT YOU CLOSE UR EYES DOES NOT MEAN COMPETITION OR YOUR COMTEMPORARIES DO NOT EXIST….
am not trying to be personal or sound as enemy of progress….cos obviously Ezzie is an hardworking blogger, no doubt……but I wouldnt be ECONOMICAL WIT DA TRUTH INORDER TO BE SOCIALLY CORRECT…..or dish out compliment in da name of GIRLIE SOLIDARITY or BLOGGERS SOLIDARITY…….
instead of telling her wat she wanted to hear,why not look her in da face and tell wat she needed to hear….LETS AGREE FOR A SECOND DAT SHE HAS A BRAND…AND I THINK THE SAME BRAND NEEDS TO BE FINETUNED AND PRESENTED IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER SO DAT IT APPEALS TO ALL AND SUNDRY…..THE EARLIER SHE STARTS COMING UP WIT INTELLIGENT AND STRUCTURED MATERIALS ON HER BLOG, THE BETTER SHE IS GONNA BE AND THE FASTER THE ENDORSEMENT WILL START ROLLING IN…….
If you are not telling dis HARDWORKING LADY da TRUTH, YOU ARE DOING HER A BIG DISSERVICE……SHE CANT AFFORD TO BE STUCK IN DA LEARNING CURVE OR IN FRONT OF DA MIRROR FOREVER……

enuff with d self righteousness of wat she needs to hear versus wat she wants to hear because if that be the case, alot of the music we hear here are really just ok and not greater…like it or not, if she isn’t and hasn’t put out a rap album, none of those “femcees” are her competition…it wud like comparing BasketMouth to Desmond Elliot just because he has featured in a few movies, their path to thier target are different, the ultimate goal is to entertain…none of those “femcees” can do wat ezzie is doing period…because they don’t have that on-camera personality like she does to entertain with freestyle comedy…or at least they haven’t shown us that they do…if ezzie started freestyling that “femcee” material that you seek, the next question wud be why is she in front of a camera instead of on an album…
A comedian that acts is different from an actor that acts…that is why u find Dane Cook acting comedic roles because he doesn’t necessarily want to change his path, he can act but he is a comedian, and wud not play James Bond…whereas an actor whose path started with acting wud play the role given to him/her be it comedy or action hero…
For all we knw, ezzie might be studying some kinda communications program in school and would love to be infront of the camera and not a microphone…

I think u missed or did not understand my comedian/actor comparison…if u did, u wud not be bringing up her musical associations…anyways I will restate again….a comedian that can act does not and should not take away from his/her comedy….yes when a comedian gets on stage, the put on an act, but he can not classify that as acting that gets judged in the Oscars…the same with ezzie…right now she is twofold, the ezzie in front of the camera entertaining and the ezzie with the mic on tracks we are yet to hear…I am saying this because I want her to succeed in her endeavors watever they are…and not because Im infatuated with her SEXY SELF….(btw…that ur statement about her SEXY SELF, seems to indicate that is an infatuation u have with her, because I see no reason why that was included in ur point…I only use it now as sarcasm to u..lol)

I understand the point you are making but its like you are completely missing the point Ezzie is making.
We ALL know that Ezzie wants a music career. You dont need Einstein’s IQ to work that out. However, she is being fresh and original with the way she is going about it. Simple as that. Trust me, when Ezzie gets in a studio to do a proper track and she has the right direction she will kick kel & co into touch. PLUS she doesnt have a FAKE accent.

What you’ve put out is brilliant and if you keep up with it, it is only a matter of time till you begin getting Naija brands advertising on your shows and your fellow ‘femcees’ showing you love on your show by making appearances. The comparison is not with naija femcees. The comparison is with other female entrepreneurs who are going into the social media network space and creating value and a following. You are doing that and you get brilliant kudos! When you began it was just a fun thing in your bedroom. You’ve since then refined it, have your tag line, name, your brand and people showing you love and your music. You appeal to a young naija and Ghananian
audience, you entertain and you put on a show.
The Ezzie movement is bigger than femcees comparisons so take your own advise and “don’t be stuuuuupid” by listening to others who try to make it about that.

Uduak abeg thank you very much…u so eloquently put it…pple seem to make the mistake and think that everybody the drops a few lines wants to be a career musician…I remember when she first started, I must say, I was a bit disappointed because I thought that was her audition to be a professional artist…I later came to realize that she did it to entertain much like wat BlakJesus, T-Boy and the likes do/did…she is an entertainer with a fanbase, catchphrase and a brand (so to speak) and she is entertaining.

My bad. I looked at AntiRap’s comment and put u two together.
I went to her YouTube channel and quite rightly, she needs to put some serious rhymes out there. Most of her stuff is freestyling and the freestyles ain’t really nothing to write home about. However, I do believe she can bring sumen to the table if she gets serious. Her vlogs are really just playful. You don’t get the feeling that she tryna build a serious fan base. Well, I guess she just having fun. But all in all, you right. If she wants to break bread with real rappers, she has to step up her game big time.
Not every rapper can freestyle and that’s a fact. But when they sit and write lyrics, they off the chain. From scoping her YouTube channel, she most definitely lacks in the freestyling department. Yes, she could work on her style because it ’s quite monotonous. Like I said to TMonii, her whole setup is highly unprofessional in the sense that it seems like she just foolin in her room If she clownin and putting it on YouTube, it’s all good. But if she puttin it up to build a fan base….Enihu, I hope she improves her craft coz dis game is getting sers. You right about her stepping up if she wants to be remembered years after.
BTW in our industry, there’s no real consistent conscious rappers. Naija could do with some of those right abt now, taking the state of our nation into consideration.
