How can we improve notjustOk
Posted on June 23rd, 2009 by Mola OGIn an effort to continue to improve the site and continue to make it even more relevant and valuable to the readers/listeners, we would like to open up this post for your questions and suggestions on how to make notjustOk a better site. I am particularly interested in hearing about what kind of music you would like to hear more of, what type of music you don’t really care for, frequency of posts and quality of music.
Any other suggestions on how we can make notjustOk a great source for naija music new or old and to promote newer naija acts is welcome.
Do you go to the music player on notjustOk? If not why? Do you even know that it is there?
On the occasional interviews we do, would you be interested in suggesting questions to ask? or you could care less?
The Rules – Any feedback, suggestions or ideas that you have are welcome – and they can be negative or positive. However, we can’t promise to respond to every suggestion or implement each one, but we will make a commitment to read each one
Another thing – Please be honest and constructive with your feedback.

Well… I really like this website not until Mr MOLA OG posted 9ice’s track- liquor and charging charger which he made annihilating comments regarding these tracks. People fell in love with the liquor track eventually. I feel this has somehow affected the credibility of your website as it is discernible Mola og’s comment was marked with prejudice. Other people made the same complaint.
In the light of this, I think comments from the poster should be neutral or positive to prevent any sort of backlash.
Hats off for your good work.
God bless
Good work going down here. I really think you guys should have a mobile version of this site cos not everytime we get to move with our pc’s. I saw truspot on my friend’s blackberry and it looked really beautiful. You guys can go a step further by including the nokias and the iphones. Think about it.
Hi ntJOk team,
Why do you not reply emails ?
Why have a public listed email if you won’t spare a sender the decency of a reply ?
At the very minimum an acknowledgement would be idea.
It astounds…
i beg to differ, dem reply me each time wey i don email them
I reckon you should enable listeners to compile their own playlists from the songs you have available for ’streaming’. There will be no downloading involved so no copyright wahala and you’ll still have a steady flow of traffic to the site…a sort of ‘audio youtube’ if you will.
I personally will welcome such a feature cos I mainly come here while at work…there’s nothing like listening to my fave naija rap acts while on that hustle!
@siteowner,
Am I allowed to leave a way to download here?
I ask because, it could potentially reduce page-hits.
useful site tho.
@ Dapxin, it’s nice of you to suggest such a thing. However, we would not want to encourage something of that nature. That would be equivalent to encouraging piracy/hacking. In other words, that would be a “No!” (If I could say it more politely, I would).
But still, thanks for the offer.
When there’s a link on your site, make it so that it opens up in a new window. That way, people don’t have to leave your page while clicking on multiple links. It may seem insignificant, but believe me it’s not. Why do you think most major websites have new windows?
That’s easy… right-click on the link, and select “open in new window” or “open in new tab,” depending on what you want. Then, u don’t have to leave the original notjustOk page.
If we create a situation whereby a new window automatically opens when you click on a link, what happens when you have a pop-up blocker set up on your computer? We’re actually trying to avoid such hassles. But that’s a good point tho. Who knows? If more people agree to automatic pop-ups when u click on a link, then we could just do it. I, for one, don’t really like it.
Still, thanx!
Shpliiiin!! My bad. Lol. Dint knw I kud du d@ : ) `Ok, nw I feel silly. Teehee
To improve this website, erm you could hire me to do write ups for u…lol….seriously though, you should put a regularly updated news and rumors page, that way, you will stay on top of the blogosphere and you should filter the kind of music you put on the site….(I can do that for free). I don’t mean the genres, but the quality of music. Yours truly……..His Royal Fyneness
@EagleEye such constructive criticisms. I would add this, I use to be a big fan of downloading. But I think the suggestion about ITunes make sense.
I would say for music from really seasoned artist who have their stuff together, there should be a link to their Itunes page. Not Just OK should lead in rebranding our minds, although I love the free downloads” so we purchase music from our artists and they get paid.
For emerging artists, I would suggest the download. It makes sense. Nobody knows them and so if your readers and listeners think the songs are tight, then a download make sense so we can share and tell our friends about the emerging artists. This obviously assumes you got clearance and no issues as copyrights etc.
Cheers,
Uduak
forgot these mixtapes need to include the .cue file for those who want our mp3’s split…if you guys notice dancehall/r&b/rap mixtape are split mp3’s
not everyone wants to fast forward an 80 minute mp3 while driving or @ the stop light
Only mixes that should have one track are house/dance music …even those come with .cue files to split that track up
for dancehall heads:

No more “Notjustok” sound drops…b/c for every other genre of music we can get a CD Quality/No DJ/No SFX version of an artist single…why not the same for naija music
Download option…these mp3’s you guys are uploading are most likely for promoting the artist…Why can’t we download and listen to these in our car or share with a friend….i’m sure there’s some script i could run or url hack to get the mp3
Stop posting every Naija artist….because not allot of these guys have talent…it seems if your Nigerian no matter how garbage you are you’ll automatically get on Notjustok
