Omolara – Be Like Yours

Posted on July 6th, 2009 by Ovie O

A had a lil extra time on my hands this July 4th weekend to browse through some less popular Nigerian music. To my surprise, there are quite a few amazing songs lying fallow, without getting as much exposure as the more accepted mainstream hiphop or “dance” music; and this beauty of a song is a prime example.

R & B/Soul Diva, Omolara, is one lady that’s been doing her thing for a min. 2009 is expected to be her breakthrough year with an album in the works. Her myspace bio describes her music as one that “creates an atmospheric feel that is bound to captivate any listener.” I couldn’t agree more. What do you guys think?

…to think she’s currently unsigned

Its a relaxing departure from the fast-paced hip+hop mixes we have had to ‘endure’.

The drums are more natural and well blended.

This is a good song.

good spot.

heavy handclap. Clear vocals, nice instrumentals, lyrics are nice. The harmony on the chorus is beautiful.

Best of luck Omolara! Hope to hear more from you!
