Reading comments from ppl like Sola makes coming to this site more fun, but sometimes it irks me out how ppl go all out to antagonize genuine efforts. Busta did Arab Money b4 Olu, so what? Isn’t the ‘With All Due Respect” b4 Press Play innovative enough, me I think its near genius and I appreciate this sort of creativity.
I am of the opinion the album art is notjustOk!!
@Sola, no offense meant, I usually don’t engage in internet squabbles but I just had to let this out, cos I think Olu is one very innovative dude! Cheers

This album cover is wack. Is he supposed to be mummified of something? Or did Goldfinger paint him too?

@ sola … your comment is a bit ignorant, is PRESS PLAY a slang or an english word? because 1 artiste said something does that mean another isnt allowed?

first of all its a SENTENCE not a word.. 2nd .. when I see PRESS PLAY i think of Diddy .. if Olu Maintain came out with a song called Lagos Party (another sentence) .. you wont think Banky? abeg .. dont come act as if what I am saying doesnt make sense.. he cam out with ARAB MONEY right after Busta Rhymes and then PRESS PLAY no matter what you say it has a resemblence.. i loved yahooze but nothing after.. then he remixed it 4 times and played it out.. i am sorry for not liking the cover ohh.. man come state opinion and im ignorant.. what is IGNORANT is choosing to believe that Olu Maintain didnt think of Busta before Arab Money or Diddy before Press Play … and I am not a hater been on Olu since the Maintain’s so come off it..

@ Sola, sorry to burst your bubble, but… the Album title, “Press Play” was NOT even Diddy’s idea. The classic rock band Aerosmith released an album in 2001 titled “Just Push Play” and it went platinum across the US within a month of its release (you should remember the hit song “Jaded”). THEN in 2006, Diddy brought out “Press Play.”

Let’s play a little game, shall we?
“Just Push Play”… “Press Play”…
Ngozi mama…. Mama Ngozi…

Spot the difference!

So, you see… your Diddy is not so original afterall. I’ll go back into my archives to find out if the “Arab Money” idea was truly Busta’s… (of which I have every reason to doubt)

@sola

please feel free to say anything you like on this site. you said ur piece and some will agree with you some will not. Don’t feel intimidated by people who don’t agree with you and PLEASE DO NOT ‘retire’ yourself from this site….. u hear??

I believe that ‘arab money’ was influenced by busta rhymes…….not so sure of ‘press play’

HOWEVER…..i don’t see what the problem is anyway….. as long as he didnt actually jack the beats ……nobody has copyright to the word ‘arab money’ or ‘press play’.

i agree with you that olu has failed to match ‘yahoozee’ BUT i think ‘yahoozee’ is one of those songs that is almost impossible to top. Please lets give Olu some breathing space
