Video: Omawumi – Today Na Today (Premiere)
Posted on October 13th, 2009 by Ovie OThis is the official Premiere of Omawumi’s latest video for the hit single, Today Na Today, which is currently getting mad airplay on local radio stations. Omawumi’s star is shining brighter by the day across Africa, and judging by the strength and originality in her voice and lyrics, we may be seeing Nigeria’s own response to the success previously recorded by other African divas like Angelique Kidjo, Brenda Fassie and Yvonne Chaka Chaka across the globe.
The video, which was directed by Kemi Adetiba for Dragonfly Productions, was entirely shot in Lagos by an all-Nigerian crew. It also has a hidden storyline for y’all to figure out.
More songs and exclusive info on Omawumi, including an impending album release, coming up shortly. Stay glued to notjustOk.com…

Creative video, lighting is really important in videos and was well used here. Good editing too. I believe the story line is to the effect of she sneaking into the game knocking out all opposition to steal the show/get an award/recognition or something to that effect. If I got this right, then I must go into video directing/editing.

@Lola and Dennis I concur she is an amazing artist and currently on Fiya… Thanks for coming through and leaving a comment!
In addition, I love what Kemi did on the video; she needs to start thinking of doing some serious cleanup in Nollywood…

there is also something i noticed about the three unequal speakers she was sleeping on. It shows the three social classes we have in the society and it shows shows that no matter what class u belong in to, relaxation and fun is also ur right even if it seems difficult.

First off, heavy handclap for Kemi – serious gbosa.
I admit, dance music is not particularly my thing, but, the video makes it hard for me to not like this song. Everyone's wondering who Nigeria's HBIC will be in the industry, Omawunmi's consistently good songs and vids might just put her at the front of the line. Plus, the not so subtle message in the video lets it be known shes coming for everyone, male and female.
Can't be mad at that determination.

@ EagleEye, Kemi (Adetiba) says you “hit the nail on the head!” She almost left a comment commending you herself. Maybe you should go into directing/editing then. Your points are mostly valid 19 out of 20 times.
Nice one!
