Nigerian Premiere: Pitch Black Afro ft. Pype – Long Way To Go
Posted on October 30th, 2009 by Ovie OThis is the official introduction of yet another international collaboration between two heavy names in the African music scene: Pitch Black Afro from South Africa and General Pype from Nigeria.
Not many Nigerians are fans of the South African Kwaito music genre, but for the very few who are, you must know PBA. He’s one of the heaviest names South of the continent, winning numerous awards and topping several charts in the region.
This song was recorded about 3 months ago during the shoot for M.I’s Teaser video in South Africa. It was recently released into their market, and it’s already gaining mad airplay. It will be sent out to radio stations across Nigeria in the coming days/weeks. You know how we do…
*O.O*
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a better pic of Pitch Black Afro. lol.

Nice collab but has general pype got no pic?
Pitch Black Afro – Long Way To Go Ft Pype (Produced By St Bosseratti) – Mad Love 2 Both Soldiers! This 1’s 4 Africa!!!
pitch black is my man anyday.
point of correction;he is a zulu rap artiste not a kwaito artiste.
kwaito is good and i recommend Kabelo (MrBouga Luv),kwaito at its best.
Nice collabo two of the continents finest… Kwaito and Dancehall coming home to roost.. Bless to PBA and General Pype and also their labels Black Note Ent. and Podium Vybez for making this happen. LONG LIVE SA AND NIGERIA AND THE ENTIRE AFRICAN CONTINENT. Looking forward to more collabs from other African artistes.
Nice track, I really don’t like kwaito but the beat is very catchy and the most interesting thing is the fact that African artistes are now collaborating with each other. I hope this opens the door for more musical unions between African artistes. General Pype did His thing as usual and PBA is is usual crazy self. Great job.. And like Topman said the picture of PBA is the one you will get cos he is always clowning on purpose. Please put up a picture of Pype too.
One more thing, Ovie. Kwaito is a very enjoyable music genre, especially the instrumentals (dunno about the lyrics ‘cos I dont understand ish). You may be surprised to see that many Nigerians enjoy the songs when they come up on Channel O. Go check out artistes like Mafikizolo. Even our own Omawumi did a Kwaito track “In The Music.”
But this is 100% hiphop with Pitch Black rapping in Zulu. Just thought I’d add that.
One luv, bruv!
Senior Bros Joint!
7-Star General Pype is on point as usual and PBA will always be PBA. You will never find a better pic of him. He intentionally makes these funny faces even in his videos on Channel O and MTV Base.
I am TopMan and I approve this song.
