Video: Promo for the Nigerian Entertainment Industry
Posted on December 20th, 2009 by Ovie OHere’s a video highlighting the growth and stability of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry from the view-point of Nollywood (the movie sector) and Nigerian music in general. In the last few years, Nollywood has grown into one of the most financially viable and popular movie industries across the globe. From Africa, all the way to the Carribean Islands, the movie industry has grown in leaps and bounds, and now the music sector is starting to show real signs of attaining such international recognition.
Today, Nigerian music is probably the highest selling across Africa, with the likes of Kenny Ogungbe (Kennis Music and formerly, 2face Idibia), Obi Asika (Storm 360 and Naeto C), M.I, Cobhams, Nneka, Banky W, Darey, Asa, D’Banj, P-Square, and many others building on the foundation set by the Legends, Fela and Femi Kuti, Lagbaja, Sade, Dr. Alban, Onyeka Onwenu, King Sunny Ade, and a few others.
We end 2009 as Africa’s Power-Hub of entertainment, and with so many releases billed for 2010 (including 2face, M.I, Naeto C, eLDee, Mo Hits and more), we have every reason to believe that Nigeria will be taking a huge step closer to establishing itself as a major world player in the entertainment industry. Watch the video below. Hop on-board. We’re in for a sweet ride!
“You are the one that is responsible for your own image. America is not gonna start saying good things about Nigeria! Nigeria has to say good things about Nigeria!“ – 2face Idibia.

People are always talking about foreign investors. Where the f**k are the Nigerian Investors? We are always happy to see Nigerians listed on various “richest lists” but never expect more from them than features in ovation which we eagerly lap up. No beef though, Im wealthy enough but all my investments are local employing over 120 people. Examples of Nigerian neglect of their own social infrastructure abound. Nigerias first shopping mall was built only yesterday, by an Israeli, first modern cinema even more recently by a briton (i dont care what u say), first modern amusement park by arabs. The list is endless. As far as im concerned, Nigeria with its population and depth of resource has failed miserably. Stop congratulating yourselves over nothing. Its just like the dunce son of a chief who gets a pat on the back for managing to pass.
Nigeria is improving nd i tank God 4 dat, Entertainment is in vogue now nd it wont ve bin if nt because of d people who get dir products every blessed day, as such dey nid 2 giv back 2 d soceity who made dem who dey re 2day. dir re alot of wayz dey can hlp d community. obviously the “you don’t wanna go down there” was an error on part of the editor or whoever edited this piece. that does not take away from the message of this video. will it kill you idiots on Notjustok to say something positive about the video and not focus on tuface??? this is why Africa is behind. we keep pulling each other down every chance we get….overlooking the good and focusing on errors and mistakes

You are the one that is responsible for your own image. America is not gonna start saying good things about Nigeria! Nigeria has to say good things about Nigeria!“ – 2face Idibia.. then at 3.51 – ‘you don’t wanna go down there’ .. do i sense confusion here? ..Lmao!!
what does tuface quote have to do with the go down there video?
cos u wanna build ur image does not mean u shud not have to say the truth….they make violence movies in america and the uk that dont mean they tarnishing thier image.
abi o..he said u dont wanna go down there which to someone who has never been to africa..would discourage them to.and now he is saying…anyway i still love my 2baba
yea we all love 2face, but that wasn’t the right choice of song in follow up to such a comment.. well just spoting the obvious
2 face go down there was talking about what the gorverment of other nation are saying, that africa is a place u don’t wana go to.
I’m lost for words. We can only get better with our entertainment industry. Viva Naija!
