Nine to Fiver Or Singer/Rapper? (SMDJackon)
Posted on February 8th, 2010 by Mola OGNine to Fiver or Singer/Rapper is a new section that will display an artist we feel needs serious and honest feedback on their career path. As in should they to stick to their Day Job or really start taking the music thing serious?
Please in this section be as honest and respectful as you possibly can. If you don’t have any constructive criticism, just leave a simple answer between the choices below:
- “You will be a better 9-5er”
- “You will be a Good Singer/Rapper (as it applies)”.
We will kick it off with an artist by the name of SMDJackson who happens to be the GrandSon of the late music Icon Bobby Benson. SMDJackson recently recorded his vocals over some instrumentals in a professional studio and got them mixed for his upcoming MixTape “Governed by 3, Judged by 12 and persecuted by 6”

keep the day job but dont give the music up with time improvemt will come. obviously he can rap just really needs to perfect sound and songs overall.

he’s actually not bad. I just had issues with his hooks. not a problem though.
LoL… “SMDjackson in the building alongside K*&$o on the…” I won’t BS, SMDjackson is my boy so I’ve heard and critiqued these tracks and more. These tracks don’t do his talent justice but I do agree with the need for less frivolous lyrics. It’s all luv bruv.
Correct talent. Delivery was madddd. I’ll would suggest stronger lyrics tho. Main man got potential. He needs break away from the pack by committing to his lyrics and also getting some original beats. Copping the beat from “so hood” is like taking another man’s wife to the ALTAR. not a good look. its also illegal. Overall, this guys can win some talent shows!
Me, I say make anybody wey wan be musician be musician. We are more than 150 million people in Nigeria. There is room for many more…so anybody wey wan rap, make e rap jare. The only thing to wish them, na LUCK. So, GOOD LUCK OH …musician work no easy oh…plenty wahala plus cut throat people dey….
