Video: Promo for the Nigerian Entertainment Industry

Posted on December 20th, 2009 by Ovie O

Here’s a video highlighting the growth and stability of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry from the view-point of Nollywood (the movie sector) and Nigerian music in general. In the last few years, Nollywood has grown into one of the most financially viable and popular movie industries across the globe. From Africa, all the way to the Carribean Islands, the movie industry has grown in leaps and bounds, and now the music sector is starting to show real signs of attaining such international recognition.

Today, Nigerian music is probably the highest selling across Africa, with the likes of Kenny Ogungbe (Kennis Music and formerly, 2face Idibia), Obi Asika (Storm 360 and Naeto C), M.I, Cobhams, Nneka, Banky W, Darey, Asa, D’Banj, P-Square, and many others building on the foundation set by the Legends, Fela and Femi Kuti, Lagbaja, Sade, Dr. Alban, Onyeka Onwenu, King Sunny Ade, and a few others.

We end 2009 as Africa’s Power-Hub of entertainment, and with so many releases billed for 2010 (including 2face, M.I, Naeto C, eLDee, Mo Hits and more), we have every reason to believe that Nigeria will be taking a huge step closer to establishing itself as a major world player in the entertainment industry. Watch the video below. Hop on-board. We’re in for a sweet ride!

You are the one that is responsible for your own image. America is not gonna start saying good things about Nigeria! Nigeria has to say good things about Nigeria!2face Idibia.
