It’s that time again when we bring together the TEN (10) most exciting songs/posts from the previous month; in this case, July 2010. July brought us several Marathon collaborations with the Cool2Vote Allstars song “I Go Vote” (by about 20 Nigerian artistes) being one of the major releases. Dignitaries like Nuhu Ribadu, the very first Executive Chairman of EFCC, visited notjustOk.com on several occasions and posted the link on Social Networks like Facebook and Twitter.
With songs ranging from rap/hiphop to Funky House, all the way to modern Igbo highlife, and everything else in between, we’re sure you guys will be thrilled by this list. The Best Part: All the songs are TAG-FREE!!! Enjoy!
notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a DOWNLOAD link so that you can save the mp3s.

Veteran rapper and Kennis Music recording artiste, Eedris Abdulkareem is dropping his album, Unfinished Business today. You should be able to get a copy on most of the retail stores and street corners starting today (July 12).
Here is an exclusive single off the album ft. label mate Jaywon. Very energetic tune with a catchy hook.

At the end of last month, we posted a new single from Kennis Music recording artistes Essence and JayWon titled “Facebook Love.” The theme of the song got lots of folks talking, with the majority deciding that this had the potential to become a huge hit especially among young Nigerians. I firmly share that view!
For me, this Clarence Peters-directed video is a big win, not only because of the directing, editing and picture quality, but also for the conceptualization; it fits perfectly well with the theme of the song. In addition to exposing the Facebook madness that’s now a major addiction among Nigerian youths (especially those back home), the video also sheds light on the BlackBerry fever that has gripped Nigeria.
In terms of the total package, this has to be the most complete single released by Kennis Music in recent years. I see this getting countless requests and plays on all major radio stations and TV Channels in the coming weeks/months. Please, share your thoughts…

Kennis Music recording artiste, Essence, launched her sophomore album titled “Essential” last Sunday May 23rd in Lagos. “Facebook Love” is the new single off the album which should be available for purchase at your local vendor pretty soon.
“Facebook Love” featuring another Kennis Music recording artiste Jaywon, has an interesting storyline which happens way too often among facebook users especially in Nigeria. In order not to be a spoil-sport, I’ll let you listen to the story for yourselves. Enjoy!

JayWon Juwonlo is on your screen again, this time with the video for his 2nd single, Gbon Gbon Gbon, posted late last year which is a follow-up to his hugely successful “File Be”. Word is that this song is quickly becoming a street hit (never doubt Kennis Music). The video features the insanely gifted Terry G (I meant that literally). Guest Appearances include Music Moguls Kenny and D-1 as well as DJ Vinnie, D’Prince and Danny Young.
Director DJ Tee also does justice to the visuals and the camera angles. Overall, good video for a 2010 hit song. Enjoy!
Note: For our readers who are showing ever-increasing interest in knowing what cam our directors use, DJ Tee uses a Canon 7D.

Another joint off Jaywon’s brand new album “Meet Jaywon.” It will be interesting to see what impact he makes in 2010. I definitely won’t bet against the promotional skills of Kennis Music. Let’s watch him rise.
Album in stores now!

Jaywon, new artist under Kennis Music just released his debut album today in Nigeria. I am certain it will be available for purchase on most street corners and retail stores today in Naija. Just to refresh your memory on Jaywon, we first noticed him on the Filebe video which Ovie posted a few months ago.
Here is a new single off his album ft Timaya, The Egberipapa-1 of Bayelsa. I think Jaywon has a promising future especially with Kennis behind him, but let me know what your thoughts are on him as an artist.
