Christine Ben-Ameh ft Kahli Abdu – Pulling Me Down

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by Ovie O

New song from Christine Ben-Ameh, a relatively new artiste who reps J-town! Mola previously posted a song from her titled “Ungraceful” last August. Kahli does his thing on his verse as usual.

To reiterate the obvious, Christine won the Nokia First Chance Competition in 2006. Listen and lemme know your thoughts…

Kahli Abdu – My Way + Funkee Tribe (Teaser)

Posted on January 20th, 2010 by Mola OG
Kahli Abdu is a Nigerian born vocalist, emcee and performer based in the USA. You may recall that he featured on the ‘Rise‘ track off M.I’s Illegal Music Mixtape. He is currently working on an in-studio, debut album with Tosin Arisibala (Femi Kuti & his Positive Force).
The first song below which features Endia of G.R.I.P (another Naija crooner to watch out for in 2010) has that modern hip hop feel, while the Funkee Tribe teaser has a conscious message and sounds like it was recorded with Live instruments .

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by Mola OG

Another month has ended which takes us right into the last month of 2009. So if you have not met all the goals you set out to accomplish in 2009, you still have 31 days to make them happen. While you are at it, download and enjoy the fiya mp3s below!

notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.

notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a DOWNLOAD link so that you can save the mp3s.

If you’re still doubting the Northern surge spearheaded by the artistes from Jos, then you’re in for a rude awakening!

Kahli was born in Jos but he moved to the United States. A colleague watched him perform live at the Hard Rock Cafe in D.C with his Pidgin English Band over the summer, and he describes it as “electrifying!”

He moved to New York after the release of his debut album, The Grind Theory, on invitation from Hip Hop DJ/Producer DJ Doom (Jay-Z, Styles P, Jin etc) where they worked on the Beats & Rhymes EP. This project was released to good reviews and airplay, and is available on iTunes.

Today, Kahli is back in Jos… and he’s recording a brand new album with the local cats. Endia, who is one of the GRIP Boiz, isn’t new to us, so I’ll spare you further info on him.

Does the line “moved back to Jos from a spell in the United States” reMInd you of a certain rapper ??? I’m having visions! lol. Hit your boy up and let me know what you think…
