Project Fame Season 2 winner, Mike Anyasodo, has just released 3 new singles in addition to “Sweet Pass” which debuted on the site last December.

I’d like to make a quick confession. While I thought Mike’s debut single “Sweet Pass” was decent, I wasn’t convinced enough to rate him as high as some of his Project Fame fans did. But after listening to “Adamma” and “Finefine Lady,” I gotta say Mike may just be the real deal.

The “Adamma” song was delivered in a way only the Igbos can, giving it that sweet love vibe on a Zouk-sounding rhythm. “Finefine Lady” is another good song which further displays Cobhams’ versatility when it comes to “messy” productions. illBliss also did what he does best, culminating in what I’d call a great song! I wouldn’t put it past Mike to storm the local charts in the very near future.

The Micworx team, spearheaded by Bigfoot, is currently working on the release of an album titled “The Micworx Project.” And as previously stated, it will feature a host of artistes, both known and presently unknown, but talented nonetheless.

The first track, December, featuring web hit, Nosa, is still unfinished but it will be put out officially on radio stations shortly.

The next tune, You and I, was recorded sometime last weekend while they were “testing the microphone” in preparation for an actual recording of a pre-written song. This, right here, is a complete freestyle, and I think Nosa and Amaka of Thoroughbreds (she was on Mode9’s Pentium IX album) did a really good job. Listen and let me know what you think.

I’m sure most of us have heard of Micworx Productions. Over the years, the duo, Venomous and Bigfoot, have carved out a reputation for being one of the best production outfits when it comes to underground hiphop in Nigeria. They’re now working on putting out a new compilation “The Micworx Project” and it will feature a host of artistes.

This is a new song that will, hopefully, make it in the final cut. Expect more heat from 5mics and Micworx (separately) in the coming days/weeks…
