News broke over the weekend that a well-known artiste, Danny Young, was involved in a car accident on the 25th of June on Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, while heading to a Kentro World video shoot. Surprisingly, he still made it to the video shoot, and fainted afterwards before he was rushed to the hospital. This news came on the same day we received his new song “Bless Me” featuring Lord of Ajasa.
notjustOk.com has been keeping tabs on his health since the accident, and the latest update from his management this morning is that he’s recovering well at an unnamed Hospital in Lagos. The latest X-Ray shows that nothing major happened to him aside wounds/cuts on his left hand and head. He’s expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.
Remember Danny Young in your prayers!

Wow! It’s mid-November already!… and that means the Christmas madness is just around the corner.
Chief Dele Momodu, Publisher of Ovation Magazine, is currently planning the annual Ovation Red Carol involving several top entertainers in the country.
On this video, I see Wande Coal, Omawumi, Olu Maintain, OJB (i think), Jazzman Olofin, with special appearances by Kefee, Steel, among others.
More Olu Maintain joints off the ‘With all Due Respect Press Play’ album. This is the last set of songs I will post from the album which can be purchased at and Amazon.
Marry Juana to me is one of the best joints on the album; Flo and Bondo really killed their verses on this song. It is a certified party track and it helps that the hook is quite catchy and very easy to recite.
The ‘Mama’ track is a song dedicated to all the Mothers out there; it has all the right elements to make it meaningful and engaging at the same time. It never gets too sentimental or boring.

Here is a brand new track from Olu Maintain’s up coming album, ‘With all Due Respect Press Play’ which is scheduled to be released soon.
We got a chance to listen to the entire album and I can confidently say that ‘What a Man Can Do‘ or another track called ‘Marry Juana‘ will pass as a follow up single to Arab Money. Expect to get a little bit of everything fro the album; its a mix of fast paced music, slow tunes, old school sounds, meaningful, funny and not so conscious material.

Let me re-iterate this; notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.
notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a download link so that you can save the mp3s.
April was a lovely month full of heavy bangers from the finest in Naija music, see the list below and click on the download link to get them.
New single from Mr. Yahoozee himself. Here, he sticks with the “money” theme, but instead chooses to go the Afro-beat route.
I think this will do better than his previous single “Lady” with Femi Kuti.

The album version, I guess. They touched the beat up, mixed it and put Olu Maintain on it. I think it is only right to put him on the song considering his 'Kamakazi' levels and his recent public appearance with Colin Powell
