These tracks are off his upcoming mixtape, “The Hunger” which is set to drop at the end of March, 2010. ‘The mixtape will be a combination of songs and freestyles representing both hiphop in America and in Naija, and will have plenty of cuts you can bob your head to, dance to, and just vibe to.’
On the 1st of January, 2009, Rukus started a trend that has spiralled out of control - with possibly 30 artistes following suit (…and the number’s still growing). It’s well-documented that he’s officially the FIRST rapper to drop a freestyle on the famous Gbono Feli Instrumental (God bless Don Baba J).
Rukus has already finalised plans to release an EP before the end of this month, and he says he’ll hit us with a new song every week till then.
If you’re not a “rapjunkie”, don’t even bother pushing the play button. This is realness. Naija boys are not playin’ anymore!
WHOA! First of all you don’t have a choice but to move when the actual song begins (30 seconds after you press play), your body will just respond to the feel of the track. I think, the combination of the content, delivery and beat is what elicits the emotion that causes your body to do what it will do.
Rukus and Soulbrotha came hard on this one. *PAUSE* … Song was produced by Kid Konnect who did a great job… Solid track!
Listen, enjoy and feel free to state your thoughts
This is a track recorded a while back by Soul Brother and Rukus. It has a strong Fela influence and it talks about the realities of Lagos or Port Hacourt (insert the city you are from in Naija). Let me know what you think.
