Many believe that, at the moment, the esteemed position of being rated as Nigeria’s No. 1 female vocalist is still up for grabs. Some have tried and failed. Others have made an impact, but not strong enough to win them that overwhelming support in terms of attaining such status. We, at notjustOk.com, believe there’s a strong candidate on board, and she goes by the name… SLK! Here’s a short interview which gives us a bit more info on this unsung talent…
SLK is one of the very few artistes I literally searched for since early last year, after hearing her very first single, Oju Ife Lo. Her voice is so genuine, and her lyrics are even more impressive. I dare say she reminds me of the likes of Amerie and Keri Hilson.
For the non-yorubas, the name of this song in the English language would be ‘It’s more than love’ and yes I know the song is old. However, I just heard it yesterday and it is still fresh. I just hope this babe can stay consistent, she will be a good look for Naija. Her delivery is smooth, I love it. Oh and finally you can place a face to SLK at least online. Or does she have a video out already?
