Here’s another edition of the Select-10s. The month of September brought alot of controversy, as well as the emergence of some talented US and UK-based Naija artistes. Their dominance on the list shows evidence of growth in the industry in diaspora. Will we eventually have a competitive music market outside the shores of Nigeria? Only time will tell. Till then, help yourselves with a free download below.
Once again, we take pains to stress the fact that the notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.
notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a DOWNLOAD link so that you can save the mp3s.
DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) based artiste, ToneStar has returned with a remix to Whus Good; the video for the original track was released some time in June.
Tonestar stays grinding as he gets help from NewYork resident Cap B, Afrigang General Iceberg Slim and new Storm Artiste OluasauceKidbaba for the remix.
‘Your money short, shorter than M.I‘ I see Cap B decided to use the line on a track; bold move.

This is the video for a previously posted track. For those who don’t know him, Tonestar is a DMV-based (DC, Maryland, Virginia) artiste who’s been on his grind for a while now. Towards the end of last year, he was putting out songs on a weekly basis.
Now, I guess it’s time for the videos to start rolling in.
Finally got around found time to listening to a Tonestar track. Homeboy has skillz and he did a good job on this one track. A good beginning for the D.C resident, hope we get more like this from Tonestar.
Every one is on the vocoder though – it works I don't blame them
