World Premiere: 9ice – Liquor + Charging Charger (Album Launch)

So 9ice decided to go ahead and release the album as is. Apparently, ‘Energy‘ and ‘Gbamu Gbamu‘ are the best songs on the album in my opinion. I hate to say it, but I am not impressed with the songs on the album, but your opinions may differ. Anyhow, the album is now available for purchase on Amazon.

Tradition‘ will be released on Dec 7, 2009 and should be available in retail stores and street corners all over Nigeria in a few hours. Let me know your thoughts on these 2 tracks.

    I like Liquor a lot. In my opinion its better than Energy. If this is the best Tradition has to offer we might as well, wait on BankyW, NaetoC and M.I for a good christmas.

    Its surprising how so far all the 4 singles released from Energy have been by himself featuring no one and 3 of em produced by Cabasa. Last time, of the 3 singles 2 were produced by Cabasa one by DJ Zeez and one featuring TuBaba.

    To be honest, I dont actually think Party Rider is far off. Charging Charger just might be more successful definitely not as nice. It sounds a bit like Party Rider towards the end.

    its been a while here but i must comment on this,am i the only that noticed 9ice's voice has changed,his voice wasnot like this in gongo aso,he now sounds like a chain smoker or can it be the production of the songs,gbamu gbamu is the only track that showcase his true voice, this charging charger is a good party track but a lil bit noisy,but all the same ,good job

    Mola, I beg to disagree with you. I’m listening through the album right now and I’m impressed with what I’m hearing. So far the track with Asa (Pete-Pete) is one of the best I’ve heard, that track has very deep lyrical content and raw vocal talent was displayed by both artists (9ice and Asa)…Alapomeji Anthem too is not bad. I love this Liqour track too and I’m sure there are other tracks on the album I’ll fall in love with. The album (overall) might not match up with the previous one but most of the tracks I’ve heard are of good quality. This is my opinion.

    To some degree…i agree with most of what you guys have said…the criticisms and all…i noticed theres something wrong with his voice too…or maybe its just the production…and sometimes the beats and instrumental actually over shadows whatever they were saying,…especially most of the hooks….However…i still enjoyed the concept of most of the tracks…i think listening to the songs with rlly good speakers also makes a difference…..i also disagree with MOLA OG when he suggested that the only good songs on the album are probably gbamu- gbamu and energy….i think he should have posted “Bo kini yen” or “respect is reciprocal”…..and what about “No be mistake” or “i dont care”…..In my opinion, 9ice still retains his witt….its still amazing how this guy comes up with rhymes….in short…its sick……By the way…”Anytime” is also good….I think “once bitten twice shy” is also enjoyable if not for the wahala with the beat and instrumental overshadowing the vocals…..Overall…this is still a good album compared to majority of what has been out since the beginning of the year from others….I can still probably say that the gap in witt and execution between 9ice and any other indigenous artiste is still very wide….am still rocking to this…..guys…”once between twce shy” just came up now……”oun ti oju ori, kii ba okan je..oju koro, kii ma pa oju koro je”…wow…am outta here….i think some of you guys need to chill and get the album before you start judging…..i mean if you havent…dont judge the album by the tracks MOLA OG posted….they are nt very good indicators of what to expect….PLUS…how come the tracks “bluetooth” and “Bo kini yen” are the same but listed as different tracks on the album…?i need my 99 cents back for that…later guys…

    hunnnnnnnnnn..don’t no what to say..all blame will be on him but for me he did is part in this mistake by been stingy to go for combination of good producer and have the best of zeeno foster..all i wana no is how many tracks did Cabasa did in the tracks and if i found out the bad ones are part of his production i will send him a message on Face Book, back to what am saying the Album gat good tracks,the problem is that of the mixers and he (9ice) usually use Zeeno foster..i don’t no what happen dis time…if the mixers fumble how much will he spend in comparing to the gain he will make from the album and more over he owns the label, why been stingy…..he did a good album but fucked up at the mixed level..Good Album tracks that i can here him sing clear and i enjoy…Gbamu Gbamu, Energy, I don’t care, Charging Charger, Pete-pete ft Asa, Anytime, and Respect is reciprocal………

    i strongly feel the problem was caused by anyone dat mixed this songs,or another reason will be the same reason as we have i NFA,when a player is far bigger than the coach..if the producer felt dat the recording or vocal wasnt good,he would have advised 9ice to re-record or re-mix the song again before they drop the album….

    Well, i can judge now… as ive heard most of the tracks… i can say i like half of the songs on the album…. i think he didnt take his time or wanna spend money on good production and stuff… 2 much auto tuning on most of the party tracks and not enough work put into the quality of the beats…. its a nice to have album sha…. Guess he wanted the album out before christmas to take full advantage… make i wait for the likes of Mayor, Material and one and only arafada albums maybe i’ll be happier and not forgeting olu-apala….
    And with the amounts of comments from the songs at least we know he has an impact on us one way or the other, good or bad… lol!!!!

    This website was built to review songs posted and not to curse. People are meant to talk about the production, the artiste voice, producer, studio used and the general track. But i find it disturbing that some nigerians will rather abuse people rather than do constructive criticism. The artiste(s) in question do come to the sites to read reviews of their material but how can they go and improve when all they read about is curse.

    Personally i think nice should not have changed the Winning team that is ID Cabasa. the production was a little Wack and did not enhance his indigenous voice and lyrics.

    Also, some Nigerian artist should learn to spend money on professional mixing and mastering. Cos you own a studio in your basement does not mean you should records, mix and master. Even the likes of SONY have different professionals do different things at different stages. I think that was one of the flaws in 9ice current effort.

    I know Cheffo did Alanta for Artquake but i dont think he undersatnds 9ice yet.
