Leak: ‘Maga No Need Pay’ ft Banky W, M.I, Rooftop MCs, Omawumi, Modele, Bez & Wordsmith

Posted on January 28th, 2010 by Mola OG

This song was recorded for the “Microsoft Internet Safety, Security and Privacy Initiative for Nigeria” (MISSPIN) initiative which seeks to to re-direct the energies of participants of cyber crime to positive use. You can read more about the initiative here

This is a good step towards re-branding Nigeria and creating a Paradigm shift in the mind of the youths. A lot of money can be made legally through hard work and the right thinking. I also hope that we can avoid quotes like “Dey do pick YAHOO guys, but they don’t have the tins that they will use… Cause YAHOO guys, most of them they use JASS and other tins… Outside the country, outside Nigeria, they feel we are the most DEMON people, like JASS, different tins, every bad tins” in the future

Sing It LoudMaga No Need Pay

The rehabilitation program will allow twenty-five (25) young people who have been involved in cybercrime activities to benefit from training (life skills, employability skills, I.T., etc), mentorship and paid internships. They will serve as role models for other youth who have been wondering about their future beyond online criminal involvements. The musical collaboration project, which is led by one of the campaign ambassadors, Ohimai Amaeze, enjoys the benefit of having Cobhams Asuquo as producer, and an impressive line-up of artistes who have volunteered to support the MISSPIN project: Banky W, MI, Modele, Omawumi and Rooftop MCs! The song will be released in February 2010, alongside a sticker campaign that will present messages that will resonate with the population that will best benefit from this campaign. One of the stickers will announce, “Maga no need pay, I go hard for ma dough!

why are u guys singing to criticize our youths.. those guys are fending for themselves in their own way.. do what you know best to make it in life, whether good or bad, it doesn’t really matters. beside who listen to your songs? who goes to your shows? who makes your song to hit.. so i guess you guys dont have point here.. find better thing to criticize like the gov, not young guys who are doing what favors them to fend for themselves.

It has been said that cyber crime is not the way forward for Nigerian youths and I couldn’t agree more but lets be objective about this issue.Yahoo yahoo has no doubt gone to a whole new level with the introduction of supernatural elements which promise the would be victims a future of affluence which is in turn cut short by these victims dying mysteriously and at very tender ages. At this point what would it profit a man to be promised the whole world (not gaining the whole world) and still he loses his soul its just sad that these victims i.e the yahoo boys lack the initiative to think outside the box.It has to be said at this point that life is for the living only as the essence of every journey is to fly safe because only the living celebrate.
It should also be pointed out that apart from the ills of this much adored past time/occupation of most Nigerian youths, it has in a way brought an end to another vice in the country which is cultism (at least there has been a significant reduction in cultist killings). From the days when I was in the university experiencing these savage killings and from what the streets are saying now it seems these cultists are no longer interested in killing each other as they are now engrossed in making money form ‘magas’. Enough said what is not good is bad we all have our stories to tell and we all make decisions based on the fact that we are endowed with free will.No be every body meet money 4 house but after all said and done we are laying our beds now we will have to sleep in our individual beds sooner or later and live with the consequences. Its never too late to make a u turn and do the right thing where we find out we have gone down the wrong path no matter how far down.

Been reading tru dis posts 4 lyk 3weeks now, and itz getting to a point dat i can’t help but chip in ma thots, no, ma story. Graduated wit 1st class Maths, 4yrs ago. Got a job wit a Software company (am certified in Software engineering, Networking, Database Admin-na only God kno where i get money do d training n exams)I was putting out a software with IC (Inter Cert.)lyk every 2months. One day i was at d cafeteria, lunching when some guys from some rival company came. We were talking when ma boss saw us. He called me and told me to pack up and go to ma office. Dat was all, or so i thot when i was framed for frauding d company thru chequeing of N3m. I was also framed for selling company secrets-imagine! Whereas d company was making cool money from ma software without some kinda royalties or sumfin. I swear I don’t know anyfin abt dis. I was on a day checking out some source codes on google, when I decided 2 chat, met dis guy called Yuri from Brooklyn. We talked abt coding and other stuffs. In 2 weeks we have been talking on general matters when he told me he and his gang were tryna develop a program dat cud scrape the memory of ATM operating systems. We were interacting on the implementation n updates until we came up wit sumfin nice. They tried it with an accomplice in Citibank n guys within 2weeks I had been western unioned $227,000. I kno d “prudes” wud probly throw up more words than d Oxford Dicko has, but WTF, crime pays! Don’t all try pretending to be holier than d Pope, when all u need is an opportunity. Belief in yourself, and if the opportunity comes, cash on it, it may neva come back!
