At the start of May, we broke the perceived “silence” of one of the most hyped rappers by M.I and the other Chocolate City cats without a known single to his name. For a long time, one wondered if he would be another “all talk, no walk” artiste, but his first mixtape joint, Taxi Music (freestyle), caused mayhem right here on NJO! The reviews came in thick and fast, and most of the rapheads felt the joint heavily! The new challenge for X.O now became “can he match or surpass Taxi Music?”
On “Victory”, X.O uses a combination of Nelson Mandela speeches on the hook to embody the theme of the song. I’m fighting so hard not to overdo the “hype” but I feel this Naija/Ghana/UK/Yankee representa is lyrically deeper than M.I. Some M.I stans may jump on me for saying this but please listen first before crucifying me. If you’re not convinced, then you’re free to pull the trigger.

O.O. There is no way this jam can be over-hyped. I cant count the number of times I've played this track and I still cant get enuf of it, K.K kilt it with this beat and X.O is one helluva sick lyricist! How the flip does he come up with these lines!!?? I mean, I'm still trying to decipher some of the metaphors, double entendres and tertiary meanings.

Im sorry but X.O can't murder M.I. on the mic or Ice Prince sef.. I understand your humility M.I. cos u r nt the arrogant type and ocean is wide enuff for many fish to swim solo or in schools…the metaphors are just ok, metaphors doth not a good rap make, but they can work wonders when used effectively tho. M.I.'s metaphors are more coherent and in the long run more sensible…no offense to X.O. but in this song it was like he was running in circles with metaphors and going nowhere..just my opinion

Beautiful job kid connect. The beat is solid. X.O. you already said it best, there indeed is no “rival.” You are in a class of your own. What makes you memorable and keeps me wanting more is your powerful delivery. Everyone you say and how you say it says, “I am confident and I came to take my place on the hip-hop throne.” Beyond that, your music can be easily marketed and promoted whether in Asia, USA or Africa.
I can’t wait to hear more.

i get question…una think say this guy fit blow for naija wit this hin style of rapping…he has to nigerialize his flow if he wants to blow like m.i….m.i and sauce kid those guys are fucking lyrical but they know how to make their music sweet for the naija audience..that is one thing that makes a good artist…thats why i really respect m.i and sauce kid..they are lyricists but they know how to make good music as well..this X.O guy is like dem modenine, overdose, pherowshuz and the rest…all these guys i jst called got lyrics but they have not really blown in naija…so my advise to this X.O guy is that he should nigerialize his music..he can do that by puttin in small pidgin, making his lyrics more audible and maybe throw in a nice singer on the hook..thats my 2cents…peace ull

first off, he is NOT nigerian, he's ghanaian. He does not need to "nigerialize" nuthin. It aint always about yall. The ability to respect all times of music differentiates between the babies and adults when it comes to music. One way styles are not always the best way. It's time we open our minds to different music and appreciate it….daMMMMNNNN you sound so closed minded.

Actually na the bobo Naija with Gh roots. It's obvious that the goal with this song was not to be "commercial", but to create a different sound with this song. Would u call M.I's "Crowd Mentality" nigerialized? Nah. THe X.O just tryna set a standard before he drops "nigerialized" or "africanilized" joints so people like naso can 'feel it'. PS. So I don't usually comment on blogs but X.O's flow and lyrics blow me away…for real!!! I usually pick up lyrics easily but I have to concentrate whenever I listen to this song and I'm still discovering more punchlines. My favourite is probably "And when your girl's blowing you kisses, she's actually saying my name…X.O/Say it again…X.O" I also laughed at "So raise your fists like you're in Arizona & you're legal…" If I keep on quoting, I'll probably type the lyrics of the whole song so I'll leave those two for now. His lyrics are crazily intellectual; we need more of these insted of "Turn ma swag on…" & its concubines. Right from the first time I heard his Taxi Music Freestyle which was posted previously, I was hooked & it was on my "Most played" playlist on my iPod in less than a week. Don't ask how I got it on my iPod
P When M.I said he recorded in a studio for the first time this year, I was like "Wow, that's real talent." I'm really really looking forward to hearing more stuff from X.O. I'm especially eager to hear his collabo with M.I on M.I.2. Like I really can't wait. Honestly, I think he'll murder M.I on it. (I never thought I'd say that about another Naija rapper in a while)
