Konnect has taken Beat Tapes to the next level by releasing a video for a single, “Afu La Gah Fu La Geh” off The Epic 2 beat tape. The video was Directed by the talented Kemi Adetiba and shot on location somewhere in Lagos. Kid Konnect’s production credit include X.O (aka NoHairDontCare) – Victory, Chykay – Marry Me, Proto – Over You and many more.

I like the video especially how they presented “The Epic 2″ CD package at the end.

Now onto the competition. When we posted the beat tape, I mentioned that anyone who had balls to spit over a track off the beat tape could send in their finished work. Interestingly, several people responded, but we were only able to pick 5 songs.

Here are the 5 tracks that qualified to compete for a free tailored beat from Kid Konnect, which means Kid Konnect will create a beat from scratch according the winner’s liking. What I need you guys to do is listen to the 5 tracks below and vote for the best. Voting closes on September 8, 2010 so hurry and vote for the right candidate.

Here is a short video shot in Ghana of Yaa Pono (a Ghanian rapper) and Tech of SDC freestyling off the dome. Good Stuff!

A few months ago, we posted a brand new single “I Am William” from 2Shotz, one of the veterans in the Naija hiphop game. We also told y’all that his 5th (and possibly final) album was in the works. The final product is now set for release later this month, and hopefully, it will be made available for purchase right here at the notjustOk Shop. Guest appearances include M.I, Shank, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, YQ, Enze, Lynxx, Olstar, Waje. Production credits include some of the finest in the industry, Cobhams, Dr Frabz, Jesse Jagz, eLDee, Terry G, J-Smith, Spanky and IKON!

“I Am William” was directed by the highly respected DJ Tee, produced by M.I (hook also done by him), and shot in Victoria Island, Lagos. All in all, this will go down as a “Grade A” video by all standards. Enjoy!

Check out the video for a previously-posted song “Pop Off Selecta” by DIPP. It is one of the singles that will appear on his debut album “The Future Is Now” billed to drop within the next few months.

One thing I like about DIPP is his ability to dance, and I’m sure that will win him lots of cool points with the younger generation. I personally would pay to watch him perform live! Another good thing: you can never go wrong sticking with MEX to direct your videos. Crazy stuff!

R.I.P DaGrin

A lot of people know that Ego, former Lead Vocalist in Lagbaja’s band decided to leave the band in ‘07 to pursue her solo career.

Now she has hooked up with super producer, Cobhams who apparently is producing her entire debut album. The video was directed by Kemi Adetiba and shot on location in Brooklyn, NY. eLDee also makes a cameo appearance as Ego’s crush. The logical flow and picture quality of this video get two thumbs up.

Here is the official video for the Big Brother Africa Allstar theme song by Maye Hunta ft. Vector which was originally called Paparazii on the album.

Sweet tune!… As you know Maye recently dropped his album which you can  purchase below and Vector is set to drop his album later this year.

Big move for Maye and Vector. We wish them more success.

As the saying goes, “better late than never.” In the last few months, this song has been doing rounds all over the streets of Port Harcourt, several parts of the East and is now filtering into virtually every mixtape in worldfamous Alaba. It’s from a PH City artiste Waconzy who also released an album with the same title “I Celebrate” a little while ago.

It’s easy to see why this song is already a hit. The rhythm is very catchy and you can’t go wrong with such an enjoyable Igbo hook. Enjoy!

The video for eLDee’s hit single “Ota Mi” featuring LKT is finally out!

As usual, the ubertalented eLDee brings forth a critically-acclaimed self-produced tune off the “Is It Ur Money Vol 1” album (which you can buy right here on the site), and caps it off with a pretty impressive self-directed video. I’ll definitely watch this over and over again. Please, share your reviews.

Here’s a brand new video from hotshot artistes Chuddy K and Mo’Cheddah for the song “Shampoo” which will appear on the albums of both artistes. Chuddy K has been grinding hard for the longest time and now he’s finally ready to release his debut album titled “I Am Me” with an Album Listening party scheduled for Friday, September 10th at Club Karma in Lagos.

Word is that Mocheddah is also putting finishing touches to her own debut album. We’ll keep you guys posted on that. But for now, enjoy this video.
