As you know, Duncan Daniels dropped his ‘ShoStoppah’ album on Feb 14, 2010. Below is some footage from the Album Release Party in Boston; expect some footage from the Lagos Album Launch party soon.
On the song below which is track 10 on the ShoStoppah Album, Duncan teams up with “one of Nigeria’s best unknown HipHop legends” MackGee from the infamous ‘TUCK TYGHT’ hiphop group of wayback in Port-Harcourt city, which also housed the likes of Andre Blaze (Nigezie), Frank D’nero, Lyrikal, Da Veteran, Double K, and a host of other great talents. Mackgee is presently based in Atlanta Georgia. U.S and is currently working on his second Album.
The video may not be one of those stand-out videos we’re accustomed to seeing from Nigeria but I’m particularly impressed with his singing. Not a bad debut single if you ask me. Enjoy!
eLDee takes us through the paces on how he produced/mixed “Na You” featuring Michael Word, one of the tracks off the “Is It Your Money” Album which is currently ON SALEright here on notjustOk.com.
For the records, “Na You” happens to be my best song on the compilation.
Uncle Jay Martins has put out another video for a previously-posted single off his “Elevated” album titled “Iva”; a high-life song, which also samples a couple of old-school hits including the Ifeoma instrumentals.
There’s something about Jay Martins that just sets him apart from most of the other modern Nigerian artistes. He has that vintage presence and veteranish charisma. No gra-gra at all! Not to mention the “sweetness” of all his songs. A cool and jandish video, in my opinion. What’s yours?
Here’s a debut video for Ibo rap artiste, Sliq Mettaliqa, whose song was previously posted. Sliq Mettaliqa is a graduate of Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
