Posted on January 31st, 2010 by Ovie O

Here’s another edition of the notjustOk Select-10; the first for the year 2010. It’s almost unbelievable to think that the month of January has come and gone so fast. However, if you haven’t started hitting the dizzy heights you expect for 2010, no worries; there’s another 11 months left.

The month of December brought us huge drops from music heavyweigths 9ice, 2face Idibia, eLDee and Modenine, as well as R & B kings Styl-Plus and Darey. Please, feel free to download December’s buzz tracks released here on the site using the “DOWNLOAD” link below.

notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.

notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a DOWNLOAD link so that you can save the mp3s.

The download link will be up for 3 DAYS ONLY! after which it will be deleted/deactivated!

Banky W. – Lagos Party All-Star Remix + Tanker ft. Wizkid (Leak)

Posted on December 11th, 2009 by Ovie O

Mark your calendars!!! The W Experience drops on Monday December 14th!!!

For those who have been under a rock, and didn’t know, the release of the most anticipated R & B album of 2009 is only 3 DAYS AWAY! And it will be made available for immediate purchase right here on notjustOk.com starting at 12:01AM on Monday. Meanwhile, treat yourselves to the latest bout of leaks off the album.

The Lagos Party Remix features some of the major players in the industry: Naeto C, D’Banj, Muna, 9ice,  and eLDee! (I doesn’t get much bigger, does it?). A killah track, if you ask me. Tanker features Wizkid, one of the most promising acts in the industry, and it’s also produced by K-Solo, a Super-Producer in that specific genre.

Ok, so I’ve heard the album in its entirety, and I can tell you every track is single-worthy. Heavy is an understatement!

World Premiere: 9ice – Liquor + Charging Charger (Album Launch)

Posted on December 6th, 2009 by Mola OG

So 9ice decided to go ahead and release the album as is. Apparently, ‘Energy‘ and ‘Gbamu Gbamu‘ are the best songs on the album in my opinion. I hate to say it, but I am not impressed with the songs on the album, but your opinions may differ. Anyhow, the album is now available for purchase on Amazon.

Tradition‘ will be released on Dec 7, 2009 and should be available in retail stores and street corners all over Nigeria in a few hours. Let me know your thoughts on these 2 tracks.

Video Premiere: Jamix ft Terry G, 9ice & M.I – Omo Naija

Posted on November 24th, 2009 by Ovie O

When it comes to the Nigerian music industry, collaborations don’t come much heavier than this. We’ve got Terry G (hottest Naija dancehall artiste), M.I (hottest rap artiste) and 9ice (arguably the hottest indigenuous artiste) all brought together by a well-respected producer, Jamix. We posted the audio version of this track a couple of months ago, and here’s the video.

If you’re Nigerian, and you don’t bob your head to this, abeg deport yourself to any other country in Africa. This one’s for all of us… we go dey represent oh!

International Premiere: 9ice – Energy

Posted on October 28th, 2009 by Mola OG

Another Hot Single From Nigerian Megastar “9ice”

Barely two weeks after dropping the first single off his up coming album “Tradition” 9ice hits us with the energy. “Energy” the latest single from 9ice has had people anticipating its release since its teaser was posted online.

In this feel good song, 9ice shows us he can be versatile by fine tuning his style and playing with different languages without drawing too far from what makes him 9ice. He doesn’t disappoint with fluidity in his lyrics, playing with words, and still reminding us  about his happiness.

Energy produced by Cheepo, who is currently one of the hottest producers on market will have you dancing and bobbing your head to the tune while still reminding you that 9ice is infact a true modern connoisseur of our Tradition

Gbamu Gbamu and now Energy leave us without a doubt that Tradition will be very well worth the listen and constant rotation.

Here is the track we saw and heard 9ice freestyle while cruising in his Touareg on the streets of Lagos. Solid Tune!

Remember, 9ice’s brand new album will be exclusively available for purchase at a discount price within the FIRST FEW HOURS OF RELEASE right here on notjustOk.com
