Chykay is back on the scene with a new love song!

It goes without saying that Chykay is a very big fan favourite here on the site. If you recall (I’ll be surprised if you actually do), we posted a video of Chykay singing “Marry Me” sometime last year. He finally wrapped up the single recently, and here’s the final product: nothing short of amazing!

“Marry Me”, as the name implies, is more or less a “proposal tune” (if there’s any phrase like that). Here, he takes the position of a man that’s deeply in love with his girl, and is willing to take their relationship to the next level by making her his wife.

If you don’t love this song, I will be shocked!

INTRO: Hi guyz! This is Lalaboiy! For those who already know who I am, you know how I does! For those who haven’t heard of me google ‘lalaboiy’. I set up a Public Nigerian Folder on Esnips about 3 years ago and it served as a means of keeping in touch with Nigerian music for Citizens Abroad! Back then, It was just for fun but as time went by, it grew bigger and bigger and I am very pleased with that achievement. It was a folder of naija music, both past and present and it was nice to have everything in one place!

Chykay Got Next! Case Closed!

This dude has a way of bringing it harder and harder every single time. Chykay has been steadily growing in the market ever since notjustOk spotted him earlier last year, and we have every intention of following him all the way till he hits that Banky W level in terms of status (or even higher). Chykay is pound-for-pound as good as any R & B artiste in Nigeria. This is no mere hype! His music speaks for itself.

In other news, as we told y’all earlier, Chykay is currently working on releasing a mixtape titled “The Gentleman.” He also just finished shooting the video for “Fly, Low, Flew” (audio posted last year) over the weekend, so it is expected to drop soon. Chykay is also finally moving back to Nigeria to chase the dream!

On “Carry Am Go”, Chykay gives us that uptempo joint we’ve always been expecting from him without having that typical “Dum-ke-dum-ke-dum” feel. He’s in control from start to finish.

Matt Sesoo is showing us how to do it. Many of us may remember him on the Gbono Feli freestyle and his consistency with dropping new material that has kept his name somewhere in our memories.

Now, he has evolved and moved away from just freestyling over instrumentals.

On Kpa Kpa Kpa, he teams up with notjustOk hype artist Chykay and they both deliver a lovely R&B/Rap joint which I think deserves a video. So long is an enjoyable track that has a mellow feel and still  keeps you bobbin your head.

Over the past year or so, Chykay has been a permanent fixture here on the site. After his notjustOk Hype feature, he’s been getting a heavy buzz around the Naija online community (as is the norm), and Chykay’s showing no signs of slowing down.

“What Are You” is a mellow joint that originally started out as a freestyle. On this song, produced by Jayone of Immaqulate Ent, Chykay intends to show his fans that he shouldn’t be seen as an R & B artiste only but an artiste who simply makes beautiful music. After listening to this, who can argue with that?

On another note, Chykay is currently working on releasing a mixtape which will feature the likes of Beazy, Teeto Ceemos, Ash Hamman, 2slick and a few other talents. More info on that coming soon. But for now, listen to this beautiful piece, and share your thoughts…

Now, this is the side of Chykay you probably never knew he had. A few months ago, I dared Chykay right here on notjustOk to make a highlife track after he openly professed his love for Bracket’s Ada Owerri track. He decided to take me up on it, and here’s the product (talent yapa for him body!)

For the much older heads, you should know the Legendary Harry Moscow. The guy who made the original version of Jesse Jagz’ “Sugar Cane Baby.” He’s Chykay’s dad! …and he’s on the 3rd verse. Teeto (Oshamo) did his thing as always. This song will be released to radio stations in Eastern Nigeria in the coming weeks.
