Another month has ended which takes us right into the last month of 2009. So if you have not met all the goals you set out to accomplish in 2009, you still have 31 days to make them happen. While you are at it, download and enjoy the fiya mp3s below!
notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.
notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a DOWNLOAD link so that you can save the mp3s.
For the much older heads, you should know the Legendary Harry Moscow. The guy who made the original version of Jesse Jagz’ “Sugar Cane Baby.” He’s Chykay’s dad! …and he’s on the 3rd verse. Teeto (Oshamo) did his thing as always. This song will be released to radio stations in Eastern Nigeria in the coming weeks.
What do you lads and gents think? Is Chykay the future of Nigerian R & B (…and now, highlife) ?
New heat from the homie and highly-talented R & B artiste, Chykay. This is one dude that’s simply waiting to blow, and as usual, he wants to know what you guys think of this joint. For me, this dude is allergic to substandard music.
Brand new singles from R & B Sensation, Chykay. This guy must have the most unique song titles out there. First, it was Steez & Cruise. Now, Fly, Low, Flex (lol!).
Without digressing any further, Chykay is currently in Nigeria working on fresh songs for his album. Sometime ago, I dared him right here on the site to make a highlife tune, and he says himself and his dad, the Legendary Harry Moscow, along with Teeto have already wrapped it up!!! As soon as I receive it, it will be up here for us to gyrate to.
He’d be more than happy to get your input concerning these new songs. Hit it or quit it?

Fly, Low, Flex (Bend Down Low)
Omo Dat Boy (Remix) ft. Taymii, Teeto Ceemos, Nyja & Phizzle
Let me re-iterate this; notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.

April was a lovely month full of heavy bangers from the finest in Naija music, see the list below and click on the download link to get them.
Beazy comes with high recommendation from resident artiste, Chykay. For those who have checked the site within the last 24 hours or so, u must have seen a download link to his brand new mixtape.
Well, If u missed it, here it is…
For the records, Beazy is not a part of the Acacia movement. He’s with the BeMe crew, of which Chykay was formerly a member.

The version of the mixtape available for download is the free one. The mixtape will be launched at the Ceddi Plaza, Abuja on the 31st of May. The Naija release will have some songs replaced i.e. the ones recorded on “borrowed” beats. The event is being sponsored by Sound City, Guinness, Johnny Walker, Bon Cafe, Chancellery Hotel, and Perez Music.
Watch out for the joint “Hold Am” produced by VC Perez featuring Abuja-based singer, Bassey.
notjustOk hype will feature (or may be not) the future heavy hitters
in naija music. Any material featured in this category will be from
unsigned or up and coming Nigerian/African, artists/rappers/producer/record label that
contain nothing but promising content. There will only be a post a
month in this category.
If you have or know of anyones music that you feel is a hit or any good, please send an email to notjustokmusic with a link to their page or where I can download the song. ***If you can email me the song, please be sure to zip it first before sending it as an attachment***
This new kid on the block goes by the name “L.” His mom is Nigerian and his dad is British. He’s currently writing and producing all his materials, and I really think he’s good at what he does.
It seems he was having some fun on this single without deviating from making good music. What do you think?

Shouts to Chykay for pushing this through. (Are we expecting a collabo?)
