Posted on November 30th, 2009 by Mola OGAnother month has ended which takes us right into the last month of 2009. So if you have not met all the goals you set out to accomplish in 2009, you still have 31 days to make them happen. While you are at it, download and enjoy the fiya mp3s below!
notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.
notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a DOWNLOAD link so that you can save the mp3s.

notjustOk Select-10 (September ‘09)
Posted on October 31st, 2009 by Ovie OHere’s another edition of the Select-10s. The month of September brought alot of controversy, as well as the emergence of some talented US and UK-based Naija artistes. Their dominance on the list shows evidence of growth in the industry in diaspora. Will we eventually have a competitive music market outside the shores of Nigeria? Only time will tell. Till then, help yourselves with a free download below.
Once again, we take pains to stress the fact that the notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.

Video: Sauce Kid Calls Out Terry G and Jesse Jagz
Posted on October 18th, 2009 by Ovie OMr. Controversy, Sauce Kid, recently wrapped up an interview with Liz Yemoja at the Storm Records Headquarters. On the interview, he calls out Terry G as a “swagga jacker” …literally! Apparently, Sauce sights his “Yebariba Swagga Swagga” joint from 2006 as the birth of the term “swagga” in Nigerian music.
Referring to the Jesse Jagz “Jagga Swagga” track exclusively posted here on notjustOk, Sauce kid says “What is Jagga Swagga? Alot of dudes don’t have swag… You can’t tell me you have swag if I’ve never seen you pull up in a S-500 Benz…” Omo! Sauce no send anybody!
Here’s a preview of what he said. Full interview coming soon…
UPDATE
Storm has asked us and Liz Yemoja to take the video down for the reasons cited below “Storm is not here to support anybody dissing other artists or creating or generating beef. Storm have respect for Terry G and Jesse Jagz and whatever personal issues Sauce has with them should not be coming out as if it was sanctioned by us” Obi Asika of Storm Records.
**UPDATE**
***Since the original author of the video hasn’t taken it down after 24 hours of receiving the formal request, we believe we aren’t doing anything wrong in re-uploading it, as it is currently on youtube for the general public to view.

The stage performance you see was recorded last night at the Felabration 2009 Concert held at the Afrika Shrine, Ikeja, Lagos in celebration of Fela’s birthday.
Ajuju ft Jesse Jagz – Pass Me The Mic
Posted on October 8th, 2009 by Ovie OIf you downloaded DJ Dee Money’s Naija @ 49 mix, you must have heard this new song from Ajuju and Jesse Jagz. This guy has all it takes to make it in the industry, and with an Abaga on your track, you can’t possibly go wrong.
The song gets better with each passing second and at the end of it, you’ll find yourself playing it over and over again. Jesse killed this!

Jesse Jagz – Jagga Swagga
Posted on September 22nd, 2009 by Mola OGHere is another track from Jesse Jagz which may make his debut album. Lately, Jesse has been busy helping Ice Prince with the Hennesy Artistry 2009 competition. We wish the pair and all other contestants success on the final lap this Friday, Sept 25th; when the winner will be announced. Bez + Cobhams , Blaise + Mr. Daz, Mo’Cheddah + Knighthouse and Jimmy Flames + Dokta Frabz are the other competitors; it will be tough one for sure.
As hard as it is to retain the hook of this song in ones memory, Jesse still manages to make majority of it catchy. The sweet, crunk flavor on the instrumental and Jesse Jaga’s flow also add spice to the track.
Timi Dakolo ft Jesse Jagz – I Love You
Posted on August 31st, 2009 by Ovie OThe first ever West African Idol, Timi Dakolo, is back with a follow-up single to Let It Shine! This time he features hotshot Producer/Rapper, Jesse Jagz. Timi, who is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, has a voice that’s so rich, it’s unbelievable!
At this rate, I think we can confidently present Timi to the international community. His cross-over appeal is sky-high. What do you guys think?
