DJ JamJam Presents GBAGAUN! (A Terry G Mixtape Exclusive)

Posted on August 23rd, 2010 by Ovie O

Ma peoplez, here’s a brand new exclusive collection of certified hits from the intellectual madman. This mixtape compilation, titled “GBAGAUN” is engineered by UK based DJ JamJam, and it also includes a few previously unreleased songs from Terry G.

DJ JamJam AKA Oyinbo Swagger AKA the Official Alanta DJ has become an internationally known DJ through his love for a music which has surprised his contemporaries. His passion has propelled him to DJ for high profile events which have taken him to the top of London’s prestigious nightclub scene, to corporate Studio launches, to concerts at the O2 Arena and TV/Radio Shows alike. And he now embarks overseas to the heart of Africa.

What will shock you most about the down to earth entertainer is that he’s White, British. That alone isn’t surprising, but what is, is that he has become one the most sort after Afro Beats DJ in the UK. To categorise him solely as just an Afro Beats DJ is unfair. He has a wide audience and following across London, UK and his second home Nigeria. The hype is not for nothing, this is just the beginning so jump on board because the next station is JamJam.

I know you guys like “FREE DOWNLOAD” more than anything. Help yourselves. :-)

PREMIERE: Jamix ft Ice Prince, Wizkid & Kel – My Party + Omo Naija (Remix) ft Terry G, 9ice & M.I

Posted on July 15th, 2010 by Ovie O

Anyone who is anyone in the Nigerian music industry knows and respects Jamix! He is one of the craziest producers in Lagos but not as visible as the common names. His productions include Styl-Plus’s “Always on my mind,” ModeNine’s “Nigerian Girls,” Faze’s “Kolomental”, most of OverDose’s songs, and several others.

In 2009, he stepped out with one of the heaviest collaborations of the year featuring M.I, Terry G and 9ice” on the hit single “Omo Naija.” Now he has released his debut album as a Producer titled “The Lecture.” It’s a very juicy compilation with features from the likes of Kel, Ice Prince, Wizkid (on “My Party”, which you can hear below), among other known names. You definitely need to own a copy as a music lover. For those in Nigeria, look out for it on the streets. For the rest of us abroad, NJO is currently working on getting it on the notjustOk Shop for your consumption. We’ll update you guys on that. Stay with us… as always!

Chukzy – No Be By Power ft Terry G + More ft Durella

Posted on July 4th, 2010 by Ovie O

Check out a new artiste, Chukzy, who happens to be a Civil Engineering graduate of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). I dunno too much about him other than the fact that he’s currently signed to a record label called CSK Entertainment.

“No Be By Power” can pass for a korrect Christian song that can even get secular airplays (nothing is impossible with Terry G), and “More” features Durella in his usual top form. I like both songs!

VIDEO: 9ice, Terry G, Michael Word and Puffy T Public Performance

Posted on June 7th, 2010 by Mola OG

The videos below were recorded at a hotel in the UK on June 20th 2010. 9ice, Terry G and Naeto C performed at the StarMix summer:fest this past weekend in the UK. Apparently the guitar being used in all the video performances belongs to Ayo Shonaya, CEO of RMG and UK based Nigerian film maker/television producer. These

In the video below, RMG recording artiste Michael Word plays the guitar while 9ice performs street credibility along with “The Ajayi Brothers”. I am not too familiar with the last song 9ice is singing where he sings “The Don’t know, they can’t know…they mystified”, sounds like unreleased material.

LOL @ 9ice at the end “You are killing me with this thing stop“…

House of Ginjah – Hip Hop

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by Ovie O

If there is any artiste that can literally just shout on a mic and still sell, it’s Terry G. If he yells, he sells, if he cries, he sells… and if he decides to become “mental” in the studio (which is more common than bomb scares in New York these days), the outcome will still top the charts. His style of music has polarized Nigerian music fans across the globe: you either love him, or hate him; very few “in-betweens.” He occasionally makes conscious music (Check out “Omo Naija”), but since he released “Free Madness” (biggest song in Nigeria for the year 2009), his songs have been borderline… INSANE! …and I love ‘em!

“Hip Hop” is a new joint off the soon-to-be-released “8th Mainland Bridge” album by the “House of Ginjah”. I’m not sure when the album will drop, but we’ll definitely keep you guys posted. Till then…. nananananana HIPHOP! :-)

BAND PROFILE: Terry G & The House of Ginjah – 8th MainLand Bridge (Album)

Posted on May 10th, 2010 by Ovie O

Ladies and Gentlemen, you’ve seen Terry G, you’ve heard of the House of Ginjah; now we’re taking you a bit deeper into a new group which will be storming the Nigerian airwaves for years to come. Welcome to the HOUSE OF GINJAH!

It is no secret that Terry G had a hand in 2 of the 5 biggest hits in Nigeria for the year 2009 with “Free Madness” and “Pass Me Ur Love” (in which he was featured). The Spiritual/Intellectual Madman, who calls his music genre “Chante Chante” decided to put together a crew of 5 artistes which would then be called “House of Ginjah.” He introduced them in his 2009 album, “Ginjah Ur Swagger Season 1″ with the track, “Ginjah Seduction” and now, in 2010, the crew will be coming out with a group album titled “8th MainLand Bridge” under TGP Entertainment.

Some of the singles off “8th MainLand Bridge” have been released here on the site, and we’re told there will be more to follow, right before the album drops!

Klever Jay – Shake Ur Bombom ft Terry G + Eyi Wunmi + Igboro Ti Daru Remix ft DaGrin

Posted on May 10th, 2010 by Ovie O

Fresh singles from Klever Jay have surfaced on the back of the recent release of his sophomore album “Forward Ever.” The 11-track album features productions mainly from K-Solo, and one or two others from Terry G (including “Shake Your Bombom” which he was also featured).

To all fans of Naija dance music, the album “Forward Ever” should be your breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, if you want to listen to a whole album that criticizes the government and highlights all the problems Nigeria has ever faced since the time of slave trade, then you’re allowed to pass on it. At least, I know where I stand. :-) .

EXCLUSIVE: Terry G – God Guide Me

Posted on May 3rd, 2010 by Ovie O

Praaaaaaa!!!!

Terry G is here with us again! This time, he’s taking us to church with his latest effort. The production is markedly different from the signature beats Terry G’s detractors crucify him for, and on top of that, his lyrics (even the “speaking in tongues” part) also pass across a great message; so great it can even be played in Christian functions.

Hate him or love him, he’s carved a niche – possibly a whole new genre – for himself, and has taken the whole nation by storm in the last 18 months.

…And for those who started spreading rumours of a “reported” Terry G car crash days after DaGrin’s death, The Spiritual Madman had this to say (via Facebook): “Am alive so go to hell, evil doers! HITMAN SAY SO!”
