Ladies and gentlemen, it’s with great pleasure we bring you guys the official Cool2Vote anthem by several stars in the Nigerian music industry titled “I Go Vote”.
“It began like it was a joke. Some said it was a dream too lofty to achieve with Nigerian artistes. Twenty (20) artistes on one track? Who was going to produce it? How was it going to happen? But as all record-breaking feats have shown, the impossible is nothing. So it happened that between Tuesday 13th July and Monday 19th July, 2010, a period of about one week, twenty (20) Nigerian artistes converged on the Ilupeju Lagos recording studio of Delta-born music producer Magege Theophilus (Ex-O) to lend their voices to the Cool2Vote Nigeria campaign with the recording of “I Go Vote” a song with a strong undiluted message encouraging Nigerians to participate actively in the forthcoming elections and even future elections by registering to vote and showing up at the polls to cast their ballots.
Described as Nigeria’s biggest new age collaboration, the song parades some of Nigeria’s finest music talents now fondly dubbed The Cool2Vote All Stars. They include acts like Lami Philips, Sound Sultan, Waje, Wizkid, Skales, Kel, General Pype, Denzel, Wordsmith, Timi Dakolo, Skuki, Mo Cheddah, Mtrill, Emmsong, Iyanya, YQ, Efa, Oh! and Ex-O.
Speaking about the song, National Coordinator of the Cool2Vote Nigeria Campaign, Fi’ammari Machar Zoaka was very enthusiastic that the song will deliver its intended message across board. “Whether old or young, we believe this is one song that will surely resonate with all classes of the Nigerian people and get every Nigerian of voting age to register to vote and vote. The commitment which all artistes on this song displayed during the recording is remarkable. Nigeria will forever be grateful to them for this patriotic expression of belief and hope in the possibility of a new Nigeria, he said.” As the song leaks on NotJustOK.com, it will be officially premiered at the ROCKDAVOTE MEGA JAM scheduled to hold in Ibadan on Monday 26 July, 2010 at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan.”
*O.O*

“Cool2Vote Nigeria is a not-for-profit, non-partisan coalition of Nigerian celebrities, young professionals and political leaders aimed at mobilising young Nigerians of voting age to REGISTER to vote, VOTE at the polls, and PROTECT their votes at the 2011 elections and beyond. The campaign is NOT endorsing any candidate or political party.
Born in the throes of electoral decadence, Cool2Vote Nigeria has set out to use the power of pop-culture, new social media and technology to capture the hearts and minds of young people towards political consciousness. It is inspired by the belief that young people have power like never before to shape the direction of their nations by their participation in the electoral process as exemplified by the 2008 presidential campaign of Barack Obama.”
It’s always a good thing to see positivity in music. Shout-out to all the stars involved in this massive project.
“Nigeria no go jagajaga if we join our hands to make am better!”

Anyone who is anyone in the Nigerian music industry knows and respects Jamix! He is one of the craziest producers in Lagos but not as visible as the common names. His productions include Styl-Plus’s “Always on my mind,” ModeNine’s “Nigerian Girls,” Faze’s “Kolomental”, most of OverDose’s songs, and several others.
In 2009, he stepped out with one of the heaviest collaborations of the year featuring M.I, Terry G and 9ice” on the hit single “Omo Naija.” Now he has released his debut album as a Producer titled “The Lecture.” It’s a very juicy compilation with features from the likes of Kel, Ice Prince, Wizkid (on “My Party”, which you can hear below), among other known names. You definitely need to own a copy as a music lover. For those in Nigeria, look out for it on the streets. For the rest of us abroad, NJO is currently working on getting it on the notjustOk Shop for your consumption. We’ll update you guys on that. Stay with us… as always!

Here is a sweet tune by D’Prince, Jesse Jagz and Wiz Kid! According to a Mo’hits insider, it does not belong to any one artiste and was created for the fans to show appreciation.
Solid performance by all three artistes. I think D’Prince will silence all doubters on this track.Yes?

The 2 EME soldiers, Wizkid and Skales team up to deliver this nice joint. Wizkid was extra aggressive on this joint and Skales delivered some lovely lines. These guys are the future!

It’s a new day, it’s a new week, and it’s the last day of the month of May. That brings us to another edition of the notjustOk Select-10 where we give you guys a chance to download TEN (10) of your favorite songs from the prior month (in this case, April) all for FREE!!!
April was quite an eventful month; possibly the most active month of 2010 thus far, for both good and bad reasons. First, we had “Kelly Hansome Vs The NoiseMakers“; then came “Cobhams Vs Yahoo-Yahoo“. However, the fun part of April was totally eclipsed with the passing away of one of the major exponents of the Nigerian music industry: DaGrin! (R.I.P.) and the release of his “If I Die” single (recorded in February 2010) which made many believe he foresaw his own death. It’s a lil over a month now, and we miss him so dearly. Well, let’s get right into it.
notjustOk select is not a Top 10 list of any kind and there is no underlying reason why one song is listed before the other; there is no first or last.
notjustOk Select – 10 is a list of ten songs/posts that have made a major impact on the listeners/readers in a given month. Several factors come into determining how big of an impact a single post made in a given month, such as page views, record breaking amount of comments and constant mp3 request for the specific song. In addition to spotlighting the select 10s, we will provide a download link so that you can save the mp3s.
Please REMEMBER: The download link will be up for 3 DAYS ONLY! after which it will be deleted/deactivated!

Brand new freestyle from notjustOk Hype, Wizkid! Dude is quickly carving out a reputation for himself in the industry, and he flaunts his “connections” on this joint, saying he knows bad guys (considering the listed artistes, who can argue with that?).
At such a young age, things are going so well for him. One can only see him hitting the very top within the next 12months or so. Even on a freestyle, he delivers with so much ease. Listen and share your thoughts…

Banky W. – Lagos Party All-Star Remix + Tanker ft. Wizkid (Leak)
Posted on December 11th, 2009 by Ovie O
Mark your calendars!!! The W Experience drops on Monday December 14th!!!
For those who have been under a rock, and didn’t know, the release of the most anticipated R & B album of 2009 is only 3 DAYS AWAY! And it will be made available for immediate purchase right here on notjustOk.com starting at 12:01AM on Monday. Meanwhile, treat yourselves to the latest bout of leaks off the album.
The Lagos Party Remix features some of the major players in the industry: Naeto C, D’Banj, Muna, 9ice, and eLDee! (I doesn’t get much bigger, does it?). A killah track, if you ask me. Tanker features Wizkid, one of the most promising acts in the industry, and it’s also produced by K-Solo, a Super-Producer in that specific genre.
Ok, so I’ve heard the album in its entirety, and I can tell you every track is single-worthy. Heavy is an understatement!
